1. Make sure the wiring is safely insidethe outlet box as instructed in Step 5 -Electrical Connections. To install thecanopy, partially unscrew the 2 screws inthe hanger bracket. Align the slottedholes in the canopy with the screws inhanger bracket. Push up the canopy sothe screws slip into the slot. Turn thecanopy so it locks in place. Make sure thecanopy is not quite touching the ceiling.
2. Blade Assembly
Using the supplied blade arm screws,attach the blades to the blade arms. (Fig. 10). In some cases the metal washeris permanently fixed to the screw head.Ensure all screws are used for eachblade.
3. Blade InstallationYou can provide easy access to the bladescrew holes on the motor housing bycentering them in the access hole of theflange. Attach the blades to the motorhousing using the supplied screws. Turnthe housing to expose the next set ofblade screw holes. Continue with eachblade. DO NOT bend the blade armswhen installing the blades.
4. A certain amount of wobble may beconsidered normal, especially if the fanis on a downrod longer than 12".
5. (Fig. 11) Attach the switch cup bylining up the cannon plug from the motorhousing to the one from the switch cup.Attach the switch cup to the flange withthe screws provided.
6. Turn on the fan and check the 4position speed switch - 3 speeds andstop. (Fig. 12) Check the reverse switchNOTE: Wait for the fan to stop rotatingbefore changing from forward to reverse.

1. A ceiling fan is an environmentallysmart choice to cool as well as help towarm your home or office. You shouldsee a reduction in both heating and cool-ing costs by regular use of your fan.
Do not hesitate to use your fan dur-ing summer and winter months. In sum-mer, using the reverse switch, adjust thefan’s direction so cool air is blown down,producing a cooling breeze. (Fig, 13) Inwinter, reverse the fan so that an upwardairflow will push warm air off the ceilingand circulate it downwards into the liv-ing area (Fig. 14). In winter months, usethe fan at a lower speed than summer.
2. Periodically check tightness of allscrews securing the blades to the bladearm attachment points. A clicking or rattling noise is a sure indication of loosening screws. Since screws willinvariably work loose over time, at leastonce a year, tighten all the screws attach-ing blades to blade arms. Do not bendblade arms when cleaning or servicingthe fan.
3. Clean your fan periodically usingonly a cloth dampened with a mild deter-gent solution for all hardware - never usesolvents. The finish plating is lacqueredto prevent tarnishing. Use a lint-free clothwith clean water to clean blades.
4. You will never need to oil or lubri-cate your fan. Its permanently sealedbearings will provide trouble-free, silentoperation for many years.
5. If repairs or servicing are everrequired, to avoid possible electricshock, turn off the electricity at themain fuse or circuit panel before youbegin.
FAN WILL NOT START1. Check that the electricity has beenturned on at the circuit breaker whichhad probably been turned off duringinstallation.
2. Turn off the electricity. Check all connections in the wiring of the fan at theceiling and make sure it follows the wiringinstructions outlined in this manual.
NOISENote: Always allow a day or two “run-in”time for any new fan at medium or highspeed. When attempting to diagnosenoise, listen carefully from several sidesto try and isolate the location of the noise(blades, upper end, motor, light kit, etc.).
1. Tighten all screws attaching blades toblade arms. Remember to tighten thesescrews at least once a year because theymay loosen slowly over time and cause aclicking noise.
2. Turn off the power. Loosen thecanopy and check that the wiring and/orwire nut connectors are not resting againstthe canopy, possibly vibrating while thefan is on.
3. Use of a standard light rheostat or anunapproved fan wall control to control thefan speed will always cause an annoying“hum”. Many fan motors do not workquietly with solid state variable speedcontrols.
4. Check that the rubber gasket on themounting bracket has been installed ifcalled for in the installation instructions.
5. Check that the canopy is not touchingthe ceiling.
6. Check that all screws on the motorhousing and the bottom housing are tight.
FAN TURNS, BUT DOES NOTMOVE MUCH AIR1. The fan may be running in reverse.
2. The distance from the ceiling to theblades may be too small. At least 8" arerecommended.
3. The room may contain items whichobstruct the air flow.
4. The fan may be too small for the sizeof the room.
EXCESSIVE WOBBLENote: A small amount of wobble is considered acceptable and should not beconsidered a defect.

WARNING - To reduce the risk of shock, fire or injury, mount the fan ONLY toan outlet marked “Acceptable for Fan Support”.
1. Disconnect the power by removingfuses or turning off circuit breakers.
2. If there is an existing outlet box,ensure it is clearly marked “Suitable ForFan Support”. If it is not so marked, itmust be replaced with an approved one.
3. Secure the outlet box (or make surethe existing box is secured) directly tothe building structure. Use appropriatefasteners and building materials.
4. Figures 1, 2 and 3 are examples ofdifferent ways to mount the outlet box indifferent situations. A longer downrodmay be required in sloped ceiling situa-tions to maintain proper blade clearance.
5. To hang the fan in locations whereno ceiling joist is available, a hangersupport bar may be required (Fig. 4).Quorum distributes approved hangersupport bars and outlet boxes.

Use the wires nuts supplied with yourfan when making connections. Securethe connectors with electrical tape andmake sure there are no loose connectionsor wire strands.
1. Spread the wires apart so that theblack and blue wires from the fan are onone side of the mounting bracket and thewhite wire and green ground wire are onthe other side.
2. (Fig. 7) Connect the BLACK build-ing supply wire to the BLACK ANDBLUE fan wires. Connect the WHITEbuilding neutral wire to the WHITE fanneutral wire. Connect the COPPERbuilding ground wire to the GREEN fanground wire.
3. Optional W all Contr ols
Wiring connections for optional wallcontrol are shown in Fig.8 and 9. Figure9 shows how to wire a fan wall controlswitch. This controls the fan only. Toseparately control an optional light kitusing the light kit pull chain,you wouldhave to connect the blue wire from thefan to the house supply wire, before itgoes to the wall control. This is not aneasy connection, and we suggest you calla qualified electrician to do it for you.
4. Inside the ceiling junction box besure to spread the wires apart so that theblack and blue connections are on oneside of the outlet box and the white/whiteand green/copper connections are on theother side.
Use ONLY wall controls approvedby Quorum. Use of unapproved wallcontrols will cause unacceptablehumming noise, and voids the fanwarranty.
WARNING - Turn off the power!
DO NOT fasten the blades to the fanuntil it is assembled and hanging fr omthe ceiling. To do so now will likelybend the blade arms and almost cer-tainly cause wobble.
1. If not already affixed to the hangerbracket, place the rectangular rubber isolators between the hanger bracket andoutlet box. Secure the hanger bracket tothe outlet box using the 2 long steelscrews supplied with the fan.
2. Remove the set pin and safety lockclip from the downrod/ball assembly.Slide the downrod through the canopySlide the yoke cover onto the downrod(Fig. 5). Feed the wires from the fanmotor through the downrod assembly.
3. (Fig. 6) Attach the downrod assem-bly (downrod, yoke cover and canopy)tothe motor by sliding the downrod intothe yoke on top of the motor assembly.Slide the set pin through the hole in theyoke, downrod and washer and secure itwith the safety lock clip. Tighten the set
screws on yoke. The yoke cover willlower down to conceal the yoke. Feedthe wires through the downrod ball gasket.
4. Lift the fan motor without the bladesand place into the hanger bracket, rotat-ing the ball until the groove engages thetab on the hanger bracket. This locks theball mount and fan motor, preventing fanrotation during operation.
