Breakout Session 1: Drive your innovation forward - get the needed support here Have you got an innovative idea and don’t know how to take it further? Are you looking for a partner to implement your innovation project at the national or international level? Are you toying with the thought of founding a start-up? In this Breakout Session, you will get answers to your questions and support for your innovation proposal. Compile your programme yourself. As part of a “World Café”, we acquaint you with the funding opportunities for SMEs, national and international innovation projects and start-ups.

The Panel: Marcel Felder, Innosuisse; Urs Guggenbuehl, be-advanced AG and Innosuisse Coach; Stéphanie Lecaudé, Innosuisse; Nicolas Lentze, Innosuisse; Sandra Villiger, Innosuisse.

Breakout Session 2: Customer focus - sharpen your vision!«Customer focus is important!» - sounds simple, but is it really? Of course, the patient is always in the focus of medical technology; but is he actually your customer?

The Panel:Katja Leu, Creaholic SA; Aymeric Niederhauser, Creaholic SA; Eric Perucco, MedBrainTec AG; Wolfram Ragg, Roche Diagnostics International AG; Andy Tonazzi, konplan system-haus ag; Markus Wild, Prospitalia Gruppe.

Breakout Session 3: Cooperation as a competitive advantage - why start-ups and corporates need each other to deliver results to societyWith new disruptive Health Tech solutions, startups are the new pioneers and reimagine healthcare. But are they finally able to successfully spin-off, scale and ultimately turn innovation into real solutions for patients? Today’s real-world health problems can only be solved within ecosystems wherein startups, corporates, venture capitalists and service providers work closely together. In this session, we discuss the expectations of the various market participants within the ecosystem and how the system has to deliver results to the health economy and society.

The Panel:Daniel Diezi, Zühlke AG; Ailish Higgins, Johnson&Johnson Medical Devices; Beat Lechmann, DePuy Synthes; Tim Pfister, certus molecular diagnostics ag; Heiko Visarius, VISARTIS Healthcare GmbH.

Breakout Session 4: The merging of Medtech and ITUntil recently IT and Medtech have been two relatively independent areas, but they are slowly merging more and more. Compared to other sectors, Medtech is still relatively far behind. One study by ABB shows that Medtech is just at the beginning of a major digitalisation push. This Breakout Session will highlight the medtech-specific challenges from different perspectives (business models, view physicians, vision regulators), as well as present several concrete examples.

The Panel:Heiner Eichenberger, Safrima AG; Peter Heiniger, Medisanté AG; Urs Heller, Belimed AG; Edward Mulder, IVF HARTMANN Gruppe; Hansjörg Riedwyl, ISS AG; Fabian Röthlisberger, Verbindung der Schweizer Ärztinnen und Ärzte.

Breakout Session 5: Current research trends in medical technology and biomaterialsLeading experts report on current trends and developments in academic research with potential to significantly impact medical devices and, as a result, patient care in the near future. The focus this year is on biomaterials - with additional information from the field of medical technology. There will be a Q & A period following the presentations.

The Panel:Janine Conde, Dentsply Sirona Endodontics; Matteo D’Este, AO Foundation; Erik Schkommodau, FHNW; Flurin Stauffer, ETH Zurich; Mark Tibbitt, ETH Zurich.
