ORDINANCE NUMBER 619 DELIVERANCE OF A PROPER DEED TO SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE BOROUGH
AN ORDINANCE; authorizing and empowering the proper officers of the Borough
of Donora to execute, acknowledge and deliver a proper deed of the Borough of
Donora, conveying certain properties hereinafter more fully described, to the
School District of the Borough of Donora.
WHEREAS by deed dated February 7, 1919, and recorded in the Recorder's
office of Washington County, Pennsylvania in D. B •. Vol. 475, at page 492, the
Union Improvement Company, a corporation, conveyed to the Borough of Donora
a strip of ground, known and designated as the "One Foot Reservation," being
a reservation of one foot around certain limits of the Borough of Donora
made by the Union Improvement Company in the laying out of said town; and
WHEREAS such deed was executed and delivered to the Borough of Donora
for the purpose of assisting the Borough in the proper assessment of improve-
ment claims of the Borough against abutting property, and with the thought
and intent that such property should be used by the Borough for the benefit
of ~he Borough and citizens thereof; and
WHEREAS the portion hereinafter described lies along the West boundary
line of the Borough of Donora; and
WHEREAS the School District of the Borough of Donora has caused to be con-
demned property on either side of said one foot reservation for the purpose of
supplying a site for a new high school and play ground; and
rm.EREAS the School District, in the carrying out of such plan, finds it
necessary to have the land described, and comprising a part of said one foot
reservation, for · the purpose aforesaid, and to that end have requested the
Borough of Donora to convey such property to wit; and
ffiEREAS the Council of the Borough of Donora deem it within the purpcae and
intent of the original grant to it 01' such :property, as well as being for the
benefit of the people generally, and has, therefore, expressed itself as willing
to convey such property to the said School District upon the payment by the
said School District of all costs in connection therewith; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED, by the Council of the Borough of Donora, in
regular meeting assembled, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by the authority
in them vested, as follows, to wit:
FIRST: That the proper officers of the Borough of Donora, for the nominal
consideration of One ($1.00) Dollar, and the payment of all costs incident thereto,

be and they are hereby authorized and empowered .to execute, acknowledge and
deliver a proper deed of the Borough of Donora, conveying to the School
District of the Borough of Donora the following described portion of the
One Foot Reservation conveyed to the Borough of Donora by deed of the Union
Improvement Company, as aforesaid, to wit:
Being one foot in width, and extending from a point.in such one foot
reservation where it intersects with the extended line dividing lots Nos . 20
and 21 in B Block No . 39 of the Union Improvement Company's General Plan of 0
the Borough of Donora; thence North 7 2' West, a distance of 424.48 feet; 0
thence North 77 ll' West, a distance of 114.60 feet to a point; thence North 0
14 34' est, a distance of 340.94 feet to a point.
SECOND: All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed in so far as they conflict.
ORDAINED AND ENACTED into an ordinance this 4th day of March, 1929.
