Upcoming Events
The next Saint Mary’s Rosary Society meeting will take place on Saturday, May 13 at 1pm.
Our next Parish Food Drive will be held the weekend of April 22-23, 2017 and will be dis-tributed to our own parishioners in need.
There will be no Mass or Novena on Mon-day, April 10, 2017 in our parish due to the diocesan Chrism Mass, which will be held at St. Philip’s the Apostle Parish in Clifton.
The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Mon, April 24 at 7:30pm in the cafeteria.
The First Confession for second year students will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at St. Mary’s Assumption. All students must be present at 7:00 p.m.
This Holy Thursday we will be visiting the sick, please call the parish if you wish to be vis-ited.
The May Crowning will take place on Sun-day, May 7 during the 9am and 11:30am Masses.

This Month’s Liturgy at a Glance
The first week of the month continues the Lenten journey, with a reading taken from the gospel of John about the promise of victory over death. It then centers fully on the contemplation of the mystery of Redemption, with the celebrations of the Triduum starting with the Mass of Chrisms and continuing with the celebration of the institution of the Eucharist, the call to service, and the celebration of the priest-hood of Holy Thursday. This is followed by Good Fri-day that commemorates the Passion and death of the Lord with all the Church and popular celebrations; and Holy Saturday, a day of silence and emptiness during the day and the great Easter Vigil: the celebra-tion of Baptism and the blessing of water and fire, as well as the welcoming into the Church of the catechu-mens, who have been preparing themselves through-out the year.
The rites of the Triduum and Easter are full of content and wealth in itself, but there are also some important saints, such as Saint Catherine of Siena, on the 30th. With her passionate love for Christ and for the Church, Catherine had the strength and the cour-age to proclaim the truth and denounce deception and abuse. Together with Teresa of Avila and Therese of Lisieux, Catherine is a doctor of the Church.

Eventos Parroquiales
No habrá Misa en nuestra parroquia el 10 de abril, debido a la Misa Crismal de la diócesis que se llevara acabo en la parroquia de St. Phi-lip, el Apóstol en Clifton.
La próxima reunión del Consejo Parroquial será el lunes, 24 de abril a las 7:30pm en la cafetería.
Nuestra próxima Colecta de Comida Parro-quial se llevará a cabo el fin de semana del 22 y 23 de abril y será distribuido al nuestros parroquianos en necesidad.
La Primera Confesión para los niños del se-gundo año de catecismo será el miércoles. 10 de mayo aquí en la Asunción de Santa Ma-ría. Todos los estudiantes deben de asistir a las 7:00p.m.
Este Jueves Santo visitaremos a los enfermos de la parroquia, si usted necesita que se le visite por favor de llamar a la parroquia.
La Coronación de Mayo será el 7 de mayo, en las Misas de las 9am y 11:30am.

LA LITURGIA DE ESTE MES DE UN VISTAZO
La primera semana del mes continúa el viaje de Cua-resma, con una lectura tomada del evangelio de Juan sobre la promesa de victoria sobre la muerte. Luego se centra plenamente en la contemplación del misterio de la Redención, con las celebraciones del Triduo a partir de la Misa de los Crismas y continuando con la cele-bración de la institución de la Eucaristía, el llamado al servicio y la celebración del sacerdocio el Jueves Santo. A esto le sigue el Viernes Santo que conmemora la Pa-sión y muerte del Señor con toda la Iglesia y celebra-ciones populares; Y el Sábado Santo, un día de silencio y vacío durante el día y la gran Vigilia Pascual: la cele-bración del Bautismo, la bendición del agua y el fuego, y la acogida en la Iglesia de los catecúmenos.
Los ritos del Triduo y la Pascua están llenos de conte-nido y riqueza en sí, pero también hay algunos santos importantes, como Santa Catalina de Siena, el día 30. Con su apasionado amor por Cristo y por la Iglesia, Catalina tuvo la fuerza y el coraje para proclamar la verdad y denunciar el engaño y el abuso. Junto con Teresa de Ávila y Teresa de Lisieux, Catalina es doctora de la Iglesia.
