TB285Hydraulic excavator

The TB285 excavator is one of the latest additions to the Takeuchi line-up. Packed with a wide variety of standard features, such as, multiple working modes, secondary auxiliary hydraulics, a boom holding valve, and an overload alarm the TB285 excavator delivers unsurpassed value, performance and versatility. From the powerful and efficient turbocharged engine to the precision control of the load sensing hydraulic system, this versatile machine is at home on most any jobsite. With 15 feet of dig depth and almost 24.5 feet of reach, the TB285 is an outstanding alternative to the backhoe loader.

• Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) should be performed prior to machine delivery to ensure proper machine function and maximum performance.

• Fuel and lubrication should be checked prior to delivery so there are no unexpected interruptions; proper lubrication will help ensure there are no unusual sounds during machine operation.

• Ensure all controls and circuits function properly and that they are crisp and responsive.

• Buckets and attachments should be installed properly.

• Clean the machine thoroughly and remove all plastic and protective coverings from the seat and control levers; the machine should look new as if it were being delivered to the customer.

• Clean and adjust the mirrors for optimum visibility.

• Slide the seat to its farthest rearward position so the customer can appreciate the spaciousness of the operator's compartment.

• Raise the seat to its highest position so you can demonstrate the multiple height adjustments.

• Safety lockout lever should be in the upright position so you can explain its function at the appropriate time.

• Engine hood and covers should be unlocked and remain closed until you are ready to discuss.

• Review the operator's manual to ensure that YOU know and understand all machine features, their function and benefits.

• Position the machine properly to allow for an orderly presentation. Takeuchi recommends the following:

1. Position the blade in front of the machine to allow easier viewing and access around the machine.

2. Adjust the boom swing as if you were digging in line with the right track so you can demonstrate how the machine can be positioned close to a wall or obstruction.

3. Rotate the house approximately 20°– 30° so the track frame may be used as a step for easy entry / egress and to demonstrate the visibility when operating close to a wall or obstruction.

4. Position the arm at approximately a 90° angle to the boom so that the arm is perpendicular to the ground.

5. If equipped with a pin-on bucket, position it so that it's resting flat on the ground.

6. Bucket coupler – if equipped with a bucket coupler, remove the bucket and set it beside the arm so that you can demonstrate the function at the appropriate time. Place the arm on the ground.

• Bucket pin seals and o-rings help keep dirt and contaminants out of critical wear points.

• Dual pin position bucket provides a power dig position for tough applications and a curl position to maximize productivity. The general recommendation is to place in the curl position (hole nearest the main pin) to allow better range of motion and faster cycles.

• Takeuchi's exclusive Adjust-A-Hook coupler system significantly improves the fit of attachments by reducing looseness caused by wear, and offers quick “Turn-of-a-Bolt'' adjustment (no parts or shims are required). Wait until live demo to install the bucket to the coupler.

• Grease points are located down one side of the boom and arm for easy access, and should be greased daily.

• Large pins and bushings for superior durability.

• Integrated thumb mount is engineered into the arm structure to ensure component strength and minimizes installation time.

• Cushioned arm, boom and swing cylinders reduce shock to the operator and increase durability.

• Dual auxiliary circuits may be adjusted from the operator's seat; 1st auxiliary is high flow circuit and 2nd auxiliary is low flow circuit giving the operator greater attachment versatility. FLoW RaTE: 1st Auxiliary: 26.6 gpm 2nd Auxiliary: 14.5 gpm

• Steel hydraulic lines used extensively for greater durability and the hydraulic lines are routed to ensure long life.

• Segmented hydraulic lines on the boom and blade simplify replacement.

• Heavy duty boom with internal and external gusset reinforcements for greater strength.

• Dual boom cylinders provide exceptional strength and provide additional clearance for the buckets or other attachments.

• Heavy duty boom mount features a substantial casting and large diameter pin.

• Standard boom holding valve helps maintain load control in the event of a hose failure / loss of pressure.

• Blade frame features heavy duty rectangular steel tubing and substantial gusset reinforcements to enhance durability and prevent bending and twisting.

• Blade design enhances productivity due to its height and curvature which allows it to hold and push a large volume of material.

• Blade float is standard and allows the blade to float freely over the contour of the ground, simplifying finish work.

• Large tie down points on the right and left side of the blade and on the rear of the track frame make it easy to secure for transport.

• Three lifting points are provided; two are located on the blade and a third is located at the base of the boom.

• K-frame design reduces the build-up of dirt and debris and provides outstanding ground clearance.

• Triple flange track rollers limit the potential for de-tracking due to multiple contact points.

• Automatic two-speed travel shifts automatically to high torque mode when a load is encountered.
