Summer reading programs are on everybody’s mind these days. My daughter has been volunteering at our local library for the past week, pulling books and creating displays to tell the vacationing students what is required and what they might like to read just for fun. She usually comes home with a big stack of books for herself. Ah, more time for reading. Our hearts go out to the victims of the recent shooting in Orlando. Isn’t ALA always at the epicenter of something? We won’t be attending the conference this year (with PLA and state conferences on the calendar, we decided to skip this one), but we will be coming to conferences all over the country this fall. I will keep you posted. There are plenty of new titles coming out this month including the blockbuster of the summer: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is available in every format and we have cleared off some shelves in the warehouse for the arrival of inventory at the end of the month. Feel free to pre-order.
