MACHINE OPERATOR

This symbol identifies quali-fied personnel, that meanspersonnel having specificskills for the needed opera-tions. As the operations mar-ked by this symbol must becarried out completely byhand, operators skills andaccuracy are very importantto obtain the best results.

MECHANICAL MAINTE-NANCE ENGINEERThe Mechanical MaintenanceEngineer is a qualified techni-cian able to operate the ma-chine in normal conditions, toset and adjust all mechanicalparts and to carry out repai-ring and maintenance ope-rations. He/she is not quali-fied to operate on energisedelectric installations.

OIL-DYNAMIC MAINTE-NANCE ENGINEERThe Oil-dynamic MaintenanceEngineer is a qualified tech-nician, able to operate themachine in normal condi-tions, to set and adjust all oil-dynamic parts and carry outrepairing and maintenanceoperations. He/she is notqualified to operate on ener-gised electric installations.

ELECTRICAL MAINTE-NANCE ENGINEER ORSKILLED PERSONNELThis engineer is a qualifiedtechnician, able to operatethe machine in normal condi-tions, to set and adjust allelectric components and tocarry out repairing and main-tenance operations. He/sheis qualified to operate onenergised electric installa-tions inside electric boxes.

PERSONAL PROTECTIONSHere beside symbols showpersonnels obligation to wearsafety apparel because des-cribed operations may cau-se injury or damage.

SUGGESTIONA suggestion is a way of wor-king that has been directlyexperienced inside the fac-tory. We know, however, thateach operator develops his/her own way of working.

Before machine installa-tion, the purchaser mustmake sure that the floorwhere the machine is to beinstalled is well levelled,that it can support theweight of the machine (seetechnical specifications Part 3 and foundationspecifications sent byOMV) and that technicalarrangements have beencompleted.

The purchaser has the obli-gation to control that electricsystem the machine is to beplugged to is equipped withgrounding wire fitting the in-put voltage.If it is not, adjust the systemaccordingly (see TECHNI-CAL SPECIFICATIONS Part 3).

Personnel responsible forhandling of the machine,equipment and parts, mustalways wear safety glovesand shoes and, when ne-cessary, a helmet.

Prima dellinstallazionedella macchina, il clientedeve assicurarsi che ilpavimento dove verrinstallata sia sufficiente-mente livellato, che nepossa supportare il peso(vedi caratteristiche tecni-che Parte 3 e specifiche difondazione precedente-mente inviate) e che visiano le predisposizionitecnologiche.

E fatto obbligo al cliente diverificare che limpianto elet-trico di rete dove la macchi-na verr installata, sia forni-to di una buona messa aterra, sufficiente per la po-tenza assorbita.In caso contrario, adeguareil proprio impianto (vedi CA-RATTERISTICHE TECNI-CHE Parte 3).

Il personale addetto alla mo-vimentazione della macchi-na, delle attrezzature e diparti scollegate, deve sem-pre indossare guanti da la-voro e scarpe antinfortuni-stiche ed eventualmente uncasco.

Per le operazioni di movi-mentazione della macchinadisimballata, fare riferimentoala capitolo TRASPORTO EINSTALLAZIONE (Parte 4).In qualunque caso, non sol-levarla mai dai tubi o dallecarenature, ma utilizzare igolfari, con funi di portataadeguata (vedi CARATTE-RISTICHE TECNICHE Parte3) sollevando le parti dellamacchina al massimo 30 cm.da terra (salvo ostacoli) e mo-vimentarla molto lentamente.

STATO ENERGETICO ZE-RO 0 ISOLAMENTO DEL-LA MACCHINA DALLESUE FONTI DI ENERGIA.Prima di eseguire qualsiasioperazione di pulizia, lubri-ficazione e/o manutenzio-ne, bisogna portare lamacchina allo stato ener-getico zero. Interruttore direte e generale macchinasulla posizione di 0 zero.

For handling of the unpackedmachine, refer to Part 4 TRANSPORT AND INSTAL-LATION.In any case, never hoist themachine by slinging its tu-bes or fairing, but alwaysuse eyebolts with ropes ofappropriate carriage capa-city (see TECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS part 3).Do not lift the machine morethan 30 cm from the ground(except in case of obstacles)and handle it slowly.

NO VOLTAGE STATE 0MACHINE CUT-OUT FROMENERGY SUPPLY

Before any kind of cleaning,lubrication or maintenance,the machine must be set tono voltage state. Switch thenetwork and general machi-ne selector to 0 position.

Per qualsiasi inconvenienteche si possa creare durantela messa a punto, durante ilciclo produttivo o altro, pre-mere immediatamente ilpulsante STOP DI EMER-GENZA.

NOTALeggere alla Parte 8 ARRE-STI tutti i modi in cui lamacchina pu fermarsi o siferma, in modo da preparar-si per tempo ad ogni eve-nienza.

Ricordarsi che il pulsanteSTOP DI EMERGENZA fer-ma istantaneamente tutti gliorgani in movimento dellamacchina. Tuttavia lolio ri-mane a temperatura di lavo-o (massima circa 55C).

For any problems arising du-ring machine set-up, du-ringthe production cycle etc, im-mediately press the EMER-GENCY STOP BUTTON.

NOTERead in Part 8 (MACHINESTOP) of this Manual howthe machine stops or may bestopped in such a way as tobe ready for any emergency.

Remember that even thoughthe EMERGENCY STOPBUTTON immediately stopsall parts of the machine, theoil is kept at working tempe-rature (that is max. 55C).

2.7



Qualora non sia possibileportare totalmente la mac-china allo stato energeticoZERO, si deve cintare e/osegnalare i lavori in corso,apponendovi un cartellosullinterruttore di rete: LA-VORI IN CORSO.

Non appoggiarsi mai, o se-dersi per nessuna ragione,in nessuna parte della mac-china, sia che questa si troviin fase di ciclo produttivo,sia che si trovi in stato diemergenza o in stato ener-getico ZERO.

La messa a punto va esegui-ta in presenza del tecnicoOMV. La manutenzione del-la macchina deve essereeseguita solo dal Manuten-tore elettrico, Manutentoremeccanico, Manutentoreoleodinamico, e che sia aconoscenza del contenuto diquesto manuale.

Le chiavi di tutti gli sportellidi accesso alle zone internedella macchina devonoessere sempre e solo inpossesso del responsabiledi reparto dove la macchinaverr o installata.

Durante il ciclo produttivo,la posizione corretta in cuiloperatore deve stazionarein permanenza di fronteal quadro di comando poi-ch da quel punto, oltreche osservare lintero cicloproduttivo, ha pi possibili-t di osservare contempo-raneamente anche leven-tuale presenza di una per-sona esposta nellarealimitrofa alla macchina.

In case it is not possible tobring the machine to no vol-tage state, enclose or/andproperly mark the area andplace a warning sign on themain supply switch statingWORK IN PROGRESS DO NOT CONNECT.

For no reasons, sit on norlean against any parts of themachine, both during itsproduction cycle and when itis in no-voltage state or inemergency state.

Machine setting must be ma-de at the presence of OMVstechnician and machine main-tenance must be carried outonly by the engineers respon-sible for electric, mechanicaland oil-dynamic maintenan-ce, who must be properlytrained and must know thecontents of this manual.

The keys of all access doorsto machine internal areamust be kept by the foremanof the department where themachine is to be installed.

During the production cycle,the operators correct posi-tion is in front of the controlpanel board, because fromthere he/she can observethe production cycle and cantherefore control that nobo-dy is standing in the areaneighbouring the machine.

2.8



Non manomettere o deterio-rare volutamente gli schemidi sicurezza, n rimuovere onascondere le etichette diavvertimento.

NOTAIN CASO DI DETERIORA-MENTO O ILLEGIBILITARICHIEDERNE SUBITOIL CAMBIO.

Le operazioni di messa apunto, pulizia e manutenzio-ne, devono essere eseguiterigorosamente da un solomanutentore, MAI DA PIUpersone, salvo dove indica-to.Inoltre deve sempre avere adisposizione occhiali protetti-vi, guanti da lavoro, scarpeantinfortunistiche, un casco edevono essere usati secondonecessit.Deve inoltre:- indossare una tuta da lavoro

chiusa ai polsi- nel caso di capelli lunghi, bi-

sogna legarli- in qualsiasi caso, non deve

mai indossare oggetti e/o in-dumenti svolazzanti e/o lace-rati tipo: collane, orologi, anel-li, bracciali, foulard, cravatteecc.

Do not tamper with nor da-mage safety diagrams anddo not remove nor hide war-ning labels.

NOTEIN CASE THESE LABELSARE DAMAGED OR BECO-ME UNREADABLE, IMME-DIATELY ASK FOR THEIRREPLACEMENT.Machine setting, maintenan-ce and cleaning must be car-ried out by one single main-tenance engineer, NEVERby more than one person,except when it is expresslyrequired.Moreover, he/she must al-ways have protection glas-ses, gloves, shoes and hel-met at his disposal, which heshall wear when needed.

Moreover he/she must:- wear work overalls closed at

wrist- in case he/she wears his/her hair

long, he/she must keep it tied.- he/she must never wear flut-

tering or torn things such asrings, bracelets, necklaces,scarves, neckties etc.

2.9



Ricordarsi che dopo ogni in-tervento di pulizia, lubrifica-zione, regolazione e manu-tenzione, si devono ripristi-nare tutte le sicurezze e ri-montare e/o chiudere tutti icarter di protezione.

La macchina ha una puntamassima di rumorosit di 85dB per pochi secondi. Nor-malmente invece inferiorema sempre elevata.PERTANTO E OBBLIGATO-RIO INDOSSARE CUFFIEO TAPPI PER LE OREC-CHIE.

Loperatore deve avere curache lo spazio e il pavimentointorno alla macchina sia sem-pre pulito in modo da evita-re scivolamenti e di conse-guenza urti e/o cadute.

Always remember that, aftercleaning, lubrication, mainte-nance and setting opera-tions, all safety protectionsmust be restored and all pro-tection coverings must beclosed or/and placed backto their correct position.

Machines highest noise le-vel is of 85 dB for a few se-conds. Noise level is normallylower, but always quite high.

THEREFORE, OPERATORSMUST ALWAYS WEAR EARPROTECTION CAPS OREARPHONES.

The operator must take carethat the floor neighbouringthe machine is alwaysclean, in order to preventaccidental slipping and fallsor/and bumps.

2.10



Quando si sostituisce un pez-zo o un gruppo, osservare idati di targa, indossare guan-ti e scarpe antinfortunistichee utilizzare un mezzo di sol-levamento adeguato al pesoed alla forma del pezzo ogruppo.

In caso di traslochi osserva-re capitolo TRASPORTO EINSTALLAZIONE (Parte 4) etogliere lolio, vedere il capi-tolo LUBRIFICAZIONE(Parte 10).

NON MANOMETTERE MAILE VALVOLE DI MASSIMASPECIALMENTE QUELLAPIOMBATA.

IN CASO DI MANOMISSIO-NE DECADE LA GARANZIAE SI POSSONO CAUSAREDANNI ALLA MACCHINAED EVENTUALI LIEVI DAN-NI ALLA PERSONA PERFUORIUSCITA DI OLIO.

Non depositare o appoggia-re contenitori con liquidi inprossimit di parti elettriche(ad esempio: quadro elettri-co, scatole di derivazioneelettrica, pulpiti di comando).

Nonostante il costruttore ab-bia fatto tutto il possibile perevitare i pericoli, sussistonoancora dei rischi residui dischiacciamento, taglio,shock elettrico e scottaturanella zona di legatura.Nellintervenire in questazona prestare la massimaattenzione.

In case of replacement ofparts of the machine, alwaysuse some appropriate hois-ting means (always checkthat the equipment hoistingcapacity is appropriate forthe weight of components tobe handled) and always wearsafety shoes and gloves.In case of move to a newproduction plant, see Part 4TRANSPORT AND INSTAL-LATION and always emptythe oil circuit (see Part 10 LUBRICATION).

NEVER TAMPER WITH THEVALVES FOR MAXIMUMPRESSURE, ESPECIALLYWITH THE ONE SEALEDWITH LEAD.IN CASE OF TAMPERING,THE WARRANTY IS NOLONGER VALID; THE MA-CHINE MAY BE DAMAGEDAND PERSONS MAY BESLIGHTLY INJURED BECA-USE OF POSSIBLE OILSPILLING.

Never place nor store fluidcontainers close to electricalequipment such as electricboards, shunt boxes, controldesk switchboards etc.

Even though the manufac-turer took all possible mea-sures to prevent dangersfrom occurring, there maybe a risk of crashing, cutting,electrocution or burning inthe binding area.Please always pay great at-tention while operating inthis area.

2.11



ATTENZIONEPERICOLODI SCHIACCIAMENTOE INTRAPPOLAMENTO

Anche quando la macchi-na si trova in stato ener-getico zero, in stand-by,ferma, per collaudo o permanutenzione, nessunodeve entrare nella zona dilegatura.

Solo manutentori quali-ficati e che sono consa-pevoli del pericolo resi-duo -dopo che la mac-china stata messa instato energetico zero-possono accedervi.

ATTENZIONEPERICOLO DI URTO

Durante larretramento dellalegatrice non ci devono es-sere persone tra la legatriceed eventuali muri od ostacoli.

CAUTIONDANGER OFSQUASHING ANDTRAPPING

Even when the machine isin no-voltage or in stand-by condition, or when it isstopped for maintenanceand testing, nobody mustenter the binding area northe underground area.

Only skilled personnel, trai-ned and well aware of pos-sible dangers, can enterthis area, after the machi-ne has been switched tothe no-voltage state.

CAUTIONDANGER OF BUMPING

When the binding machinemoves backward, no per-sons must stay between themachine and the walls orobstacles, if any.

In caso si debbano sostituirepezzi usati e/o rotti, utilizzaresolo ed esclusivamente partidi ricambio originali.

Alla fine della vita della mac-china, non disperderla nel-lambiente, ma rivolgersi alleagenzie di smaltimento di ma-teriali ferrosi o direttamenteal costruttore che dar istru-zioni in merito.

In ogni caso, prima di con-segnarla togliere lolio (Parti10/11) e bloccare le partimobili, e movimentarla comedescritto nella Parte 4 TRA-SPORTO E INSTALLAZIONE.

In case of replacement offailing or worn parts, alwaysuse original spare parts.

At the end of the machineslife, do not disperse it in theenvironment but always ap-ply to specialised companiesfor disposal of iron waste ordirectly to the manufacturer,who will give you informationabout this subject.In any case, before delive-ring the machine for dispo-sal, empty the oil in the cir-cuits (see Parts 10 and 11),lock all mobile parts and han-dle the machine accordingto instructions described inPart 4 TRANSPORT ANDHANDLING.
