1. Check the area of your repair for unsoldered or poorly-solderedconnections. Check the entire board surface for solder splashesand bridges.
2. Check the interboard wiring to ensure that no wires are"pinched" or contact high-wattage resistors.
3. Look for unauthorized replacement parts, particularlytransistors, that were installed during a previous repair. Pointthem out to the customer and recommend their replacement.
4. Look for parts which, through functioning, show obvious signsof deterioration. Point them out to the customer andrecommend their replacement.
5. Check the B+ voltage to see it is at the values specified.6. Flexible Circuit Board Repairing
• Keep the temperature of the soldering iron around 270˚Cduring repairing.
• Do not touch the soldering iron on the same conductor of thecircuit board (within 3 times).
• Be careful not to apply force on the conductor when solderingor unsoldering.

Unleaded solderBoards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead-free mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead.(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed withthe lead free mark due to their particular size.)
: LEAD FREE MARKUnleaded solder has the following characteristics.• Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40°C higher than
ordinary solder.Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to beapplied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time.Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set toabout 350°C.Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if theheated tip is applied for too long, so be careful!
• Strong viscosityUnleaded solder is more viscous (sticky, less prone to flow) thanordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridges occur suchas on IC pins, etc.
• Usable with ordinary solderIt is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder mayalso be added to ordinary solder.

1. 注意事項をお守りください。
サービスのとき特に注意を要する個所については,
キャビネット,シャーシ,部品などにラベルや捺印で
注意事項を表示しています。これらの注意書き及び取
扱説明書等の注意事項を必ずお守り下さい。
2. 指定部品のご使用を
セットの部品は難燃性や耐電圧など安全上の特性を
持ったものとなっています。従って交換部品は,使用
されていたものと同じ特性の部品を使用して下さい。
特に回路図,部品表に0印で指定されている安全上重要
な部品は必ず指定のものをご使用下さい。
3. 部品の取付けや配線の引きまわしはもとどおりに
安全上,チューブやテープなどの絶縁材料を使用した
り,プリント基板から浮かして取付けた部品がありま
す。また内部配線は引きまわしやクランパによって発
熱部品や高圧部品に接近しないよう配慮されています
ので,これらは必ずもとどおりにして下さい。
4. サービス後は安全点検を
サービスのために取外したネジ,部品,配線がもとど
おりになっているか,またサービスした個所の周辺を
劣化させてしまったところがないかなどを点検し,安
全性が確保されていることを確認して下さい。
5. チップ部品交換時の注意
• 取外した部品は再使用しないで下さい。• タンタルコンデンサのマイナス側は熱に弱いため交換時は注意して下さい。
サービス,点検時には次のことにご注意下さい。
注意電池の交換は,正しく行わないと破裂する恐れがあります。電池を交換する場合には必ず同じ型名の電池又は同等品と交換してください。
6. フレキシブルプリント基板の取扱いについて
• コテ先温度を270前後にして行なって下さい。
• 同一パターンに何度もコテ先を当てないで下さい。(3回以内)
• パターンに力が加わらないよう注意して下さい。7. 無鉛半田について
無鉛半田を使用している基板には,無鉛(Lead Free)を
意味するレッドフリーマークがプリントされています。
(注意:基板サイズによっては,無鉛半田を使用して
いてもレッドフリーマークがプリントされて
いないものがあります)
:レッドフリーマーク
無鉛半田には,以下の特性があります。
• 融点が従来の半田よりも約40高い。
従来の半田こてをそのまま使用することは可能です
が,少し長めにこてを当てる必要があります。
温度調節機能のついた半田こてを使用する場合,約
350に設定して下さい。
注意:半田こてを長く当てすぎると,基板のパター
ン(銅箔)がはがれてしまうことがあります
ので,注意して下さい。
• 粘性が強い従来の半田よりも粘性が強いため,IC端子などが半田
ブリッジしないように注意して下さい。
• 従来の半田と混ぜて使用可能無鉛半田には無鉛半田を追加するのが最適ですが,
従来の半田を追加しても構いません。

1-4. PRECAUTION ON REPLACING THE SY-208 BOARD
Note 1: When replacing the SY-208 board, erase the data in internal memory of the board before replacement.Note 2: When replacing the SY-208 board, execute formatting and initialize the internal memory after replacement.
DESTINATION DATAWhen you replace to the repairing board, the written destination data of repairing board also might be changed to original setting.Refer to Service Manual ADJ, and perform “DESTINATION DATA WRITE”.
USB SERIAL No.The set is shipped with a unique ID (USB Serial No.) written in it.This ID has not been written in a new board for service, and therefore it must be entered after the board replacement.Refer to Service Manual ADJ, and perform “USB SERIAL No. INPUT”.
Angular Velocity SensorWhen you replace to the reparing board, write down the sensitivity displayed on the angular velocity sensor (SE511).Refer to Service Manual ADJ, and perform “Angular velocity sensor sensitivity adj”.

1-1. NOTE FOR THE INTERNAL MEMORY
When a “Memory Stick Duo” is inserted in the camera, images are recorded on the “Memory Stick Duo”.Note that the camera cannot copy or transfer images directly between the internal memory and a “Memory Stick Duo”. Use the “PMB”.
1-2. PASSWORD LOCK
Once the password is set, images in the internal memory cannot be played back.In case of needing to read images in the internal memory from the password locked set, release the password locking.

The application “PMB Portable” has already built in the internal memory.The SY-208 board for repair is supplied with the built-in application “PMB Portable” .In case of replacing the internal memory with new one, it is necessory to write the application “PMB Portable” in it.For writing procedure, please refer to the PMB guide.
Note 3: The sensor sensitivity of SE511 of SY-208 board is written only repair parts.

1-5. NOTE ON REPLACING IC801 (INTERNAL MEMORY)
In case of replacing IC801 (internal memory) with new one, perform followings.
1. Format the internal memory with “INTERNAL MEMORY FORMAT” of the adjustment software.2. Write the application “PMB Portable” in with “PMB”.
Method for Exporting Images to the Internal Memory
Perform [Exporting images to medias] in the program “PMB”.(In case of moving or copying image files from PC with Explorer, the camera cannot recognize the image files because of the image filesinformation doesn’t reflect to the album information data folder.)

1-8-1. Self-diagnosis FunctionWhen problems occur while the unit is operating, the self-diagnosisfunction starts working, and displays on the LCD screen what todo.Details of the self-diagnosis functions are provided in the Instructionmanual.
1-8-2. Self-diagnosis DisplayWhen problems occur while the unit is operating, the LCD screenshows a 4-digit display consisting of an alphabet and numbers, whichblinks at 3.2 Hz. This 5-character display indicates the “repairedby:”, “block” in which the problem occurred, and “detailed code”of the problem.

1-9. PROCESS AFTER FIXING FLASH ERROR
When “FLASH error” (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : 01) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the flashis changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting.After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the HOME screen.
Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting.Even if you execute this function, the images are retained.

1-4. SY-208基板交換時の注意
Note1:SY-208基板交換の際は,基板交換前に内蔵メモリーのデータを消去して下さい。Note2:SY-208基板交換の際は,基板交換後に内蔵メモリーのフォーマットおよび初期化を実行して下さい。
仕向けデータ補修用基板と交換する時,補修用基板に書かれている仕向けデータは元の設定と違っている場合があります。ADJ編を参照して,「DESTINATION DATA WRITE」を行ってください。
USBシリアルNo.セットは,1台毎に異なる固有のID(USB Serial No.)を書き込んだ後,出荷されています。新品の補修用基板には,このIDが書き込まれていないので,基板交換後にIDを入力する必要があります。ADJ編を参照して,「USB SERIAL No. INPUT」を行ってください。
角速度センサ補修用基板と交換する時,角速度センサ(SE511)の感度表示を書き留めてください。ADJ編を参照して,「角速度センサ感度調整」を行ってください。
1-1. 内蔵メモリーの注意事項について
“メモリースティック デュオ”を本機に挿入しているときは,“メモリースティック デュオ”に画像が記録されます。本機では,内蔵メモリーと“メモリースティック デュオ”間での画像コピーや移動はできません。「PMB」をお使いください。
1-2. パスワードロックについて
パスワードロックを行うと内蔵メモリーの画像を再生できなくなります。パスワードロックされたセットが入荷した場合で,内蔵メモリー内のデータを読み出す必要がある場合は,パスワードロック解除を行ってください。
パスワードロックの解除方法について1. 電源を切った状態で,ズーム (W/T) レバーをW側に動かしたまま, (再生ボタン)を押す。2. 電源が入りパスワード解除画面が表示される → [実行]3. パスワード解除番号「7669」を入力する →[実行] → [実行]
1-3. PMB Portableについて
・本機の内蔵メモリー内にはPMB Portableが書き込まれています。・補修用SY-208基板は,PMB Portableが書き込まれた状態で供給されます。・内蔵メモリーを交換した場合は,PMB Portableを書き込む必要があります。 書き込み方法はPMBガイドを参照してください。

1-7. 内蔵メモリ ーのデータコピーおよび消去方法
内蔵メモリーのコピー方法
本機では,内蔵メモリーと“メモリースティック デュオ”間での画像コピーや移動はできません。「PMB」をお使いください。
内蔵メモリーのフォーマット方法
“メモリースティック デュオ”または内蔵メモリーをフォーマット(初期化)します。市 販の“メモリースティック デュオ”はフォーマット済みのため,フォーマットの必要は ありません。

フォーマットすると,プロテクトしてある画像も含めて,すべてのデータが消去され,元に戻せません。
1-6. レンズ交換時の注意

1-5. IC801(内蔵メモリー)交換時の注意
IC801(内蔵メモリー)を交換した際は,下記の作業を行ってください。
1. 調整ソフトの「INTERNAL MEMORY FORMAT」を使用して,内蔵メモリーのフォーマットを実行する。2. “PMB”を使用して,“PMB Portable”を書き込む。
内蔵メモリーへデータを書き戻す方法
“PMB” から[メディアへ書き出し]を行ってください。(エクスプローラーで画像ファイルを PC から移動しても, アルバム情報のデータフォルダに反映されない為, 画像ファイルを認識しません。)

1-8. 自己診断機能1-8-1. 自己診断機能について本機の動作に不具合が生じたとき,自己診断機能が働き,L C D 画面に,どう処置したらよいか判断できる表示を行います。自己診断機能については取扱説明書にも掲載されています。
1-8-2. 自己診断表示本機の動作に不具合が生じたとき,LCD画面にアルファベットと4桁の数字が表示され,3.2Hzで点滅します。この5文字の表示によって対応者分類および不具合の生じたブロックの分類,不具合の詳細コードを示します。

電源の入れ直し,または“メモリースティック デュオ”の挿し/外しを数回試す。
電源を入れ直す。
操作スイッチの電源を入れ直す。復帰しない場合はレンズブロックのフォーカスリセットセンサ(SY-208基板CN501 w;ピン)を点検する。異常なければフォーカスモータ駆動IC(SY-208基板IC503)を点検する。
操作スイッチの電源を入れ直す。ズームボタンを操作したときにズーム動作をすればレンズブロックのズームリセットセンサ(SY-208基板CN501 wkピン)を点検する。異常なければズームモータ駆動IC(SY-208基板IC503)を点検する。
手振れ補正用IC(SY-208基板IC503)を点検または交換する。
手振れ補正用IC(SY-208基板IC503)を点検または交換する。
光学手振れ補正ブロックのホール素子(PITCH)(SY-208基板CN501 q;,qaピン)を点検する。異常なければPITCH/YAW角速度センサ(SY-208基板SE511)周辺の回路を点検する。

1-9. フラッシュエラー発生時の対処法本機はフラッシュエラー(自己診断コードE:91:01)が発生した場合,高電圧による異常を防止するために自動的にフラッシュ充電および発光禁止の設定になります。フラッシュエラー発生後はエラーの解除を行う必要があります。エラーの解除はホーム画面から初期化操作を実行することにより行います。
フラッシュエラーの解除方法
お買い上げ時の設定に戻します。[設定リセット]を実行しても,画像は削除されません。

2. DISASSEMBLY
NOTE FOR REPAIR
• Make sure that the flat cable and flexible board are not cracked of bent at the terminal.Do not insert the cable insufficiently nor crookedly.
• When remove a connector, don’t pull at wire of connector. It is possible that a wire is snapped.
• When installing a connector, don’t press down at wire of connector.It is possible that a wire is snapped.
• Do not apply excessive load to the gilded flexible board.
Cut and remove the part of gilt which comes off at the point.(Be careful or some pieces of gilt may be left inside)
DISCHARGING OF THE ST-203 FLEXIBLE BOARD’S CHARGING CAPACITOR(C901, C902)The charging capacitor (C901, C902) of the ST-203 flexible boardis charged up to the maximum 315 V potential.There is a danger of electric shock by this high voltage when thecapacitor is handled by hand. The electric shock is caused bythe charged voltage which is kept without discharging when themain power of the unit is simply turned off. Therefore, theremaining voltage must be discharged as described below.
Preparing the Short JigTo preparing the short jig, a small clip is attached to each end ofa resistor of 1 kΩ /1 W (1-215-869-11).Wrap insulating tape fully around the leads of the resistor toprevent electrical shock.
