The course is also intended to provide an opportunity for those who have not received any formal training to attain a recognised qualification in plumbing & pipefitting. Practising plumbers or other workers who would like to embark on a career in plumbing should attend this course.  COURSE OBJECTIVE This course provides training in the use of plumbing tools, equipment and materials for the installation of sanitary, gas and water appliances for both domestic and industrial uses in ac- cordance with the regulations of the Public Utilities Board. Participants will also acquire knowledge of plumbing theory, interpretation of blue prints and relevant Code of Practices. COURSE CONTENTS Workshop practices and classroom lectures will be conducted in English.  A participant is required to complete Module 1 before taking Module 2.  CERTIFICATION Participants must achieve at least 75% attendance for Module 1 before proceeding to the Module 2. Builder Certificate (BC) in Plumbing and Pipefitting will be awarded to those who have successfully completed and passed both the prescribed tests. CAREER ADVANCEMENT Holders of BC in Plumbing and Pipefitting with 2 years of working experience are eligible to sit for the Licensed Water Service Plumber Examination conducted by the Public Utilities Board. Those with 2 years of relevant experience and has successfully completed the Gas Service Workers Course (GSW), may also apply for Gas Service Worker License issued by the Energy Market Authority (EMA). ENTRY REQUIREMENTS -  The Applicant must: -   At least 18 years of age -  Be a Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent -  Residents or holders of valid work permit; and possess any one of the following:- -  Minimum 3 GCE 'O' or 3 GCE 'N' level passes in English, Mathematics and a Science or Technical subject; or -  Holders of National Trade Certificate 2 (NTC 2) awarded by Institute of Technical Education (ITE);or -  Holders of Skills Evaluation Certificate (SEC) or Basic Builder Certificate (BBC) in Plumbing & Pipefitting awarded by BCA Academy. They must pass English subject at GCE `N' level or pass an English test conducted by BCA  Academy.  An applicant who has attempted either the GCE 'O' or GCE 'N' level examination but does not meet this course specified grade in English or Mathematics, may take an English or Mathematics test conducted by BCA Academy to decide his enrolment eligibility. A 396-hour Training Course in accordance with the regulations of the

Public Utilities Board

INTRODUCTION The course aims to provide training opportunities for constructionworkers who would like to upgrade their knowledge and skills inplumbing & pipefitting. ADMINISTRATION DETAILS

Fee PaymentPayment must be made when registering for a course to be assured of a training place. No invoice will be issued. Applicants must still meet course entry requirements, if any. Walk-in applicants will onlybe admitted on the basis of availability and full payment.

Replacement, Withdrawal, Deferment and Programme Switching

Replacement and Withdrawal 50% refund will be made if the notice of withdrawal in writing is received by BCA Academy at least 2 weeks before the course commencement date. If such notice is received by BCA Academy lessthan 2 weeks but more than 3 working days before the course commencement date, 25% refund will be made. No refund will be given if BCA Academy received the notice of withdrawal 3 working daysor less before the course commencement date. Replacement of participants is allowed if the substitute meets all the entry requirements and the request is made at least 3 working days before thecommencement of the course.

Deferment and Programme Switching 

 An administration fee of 25% of the course fee is chargeable if notice in writing is received by BCA Academy at least 2 weeks before the course commencement date. An administration fee of 50% ofthe course fee is chargeable if the notice is received by BCA Academy less than 2 weeks but more than 3 working days before the course commencement date. No deferment or programme switchingis allowed if BCA Academy received the notice 3 working days or less before the commencement date of the course.

 Any refund arising from programme switching should not be more than 10% of the course fee.BCA Academy reserves the right to amend the course details, revise the course fee without prior notice, to cancel or postpone the course due to unforeseen circumstances.
