Dear Parishioners, Friends and Alumni of St. Wenceslaus,
A heartfelt welcome to our Parish Fall Festival!
I would like to personally thank everyone for your hard workas well as your donations and the precious time that you gave towards the success of this event, our Parish’s main fundraiserof the year.
I have witnessed a great “spirit” of love and friendship here atSt. Wenceslaus. I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is guiding usforward as a real parish family based on Jesus, Mary andJoseph, the Holy Family.
Therefore, as we approach the holiday season let us especiallygive “thanks” on Thanksgiving Day for the gift of our families.Let us remember them in our prayers for all the sacrifices theyhave made for us.
Let us also remember at this time, the greatest Gift thatAlmighty God could ever give us, His Son, Jesus Christ ourLord and Savior.

Bar at Compton and Cherokee,
which today is widely regarded as
the first sportsbar in St. Louis.
Norb was a U.S. Marine, a
St. Louis Softball Hall of Famer,
and a member of the
International Softball Congress
Hall of Fame.
As owner of Thurmer’s Bar he
was a major sponsor and
supporter of amateur athletics in
St. Louis. His passion was men’s
fast-pitch softball in St. Louis for
over 50 years.
Norb sponsored teams in men’s
and women’s slow-pitch softball,
baseball, soccer, basketball,
bowling, rugby, and touch
football. He was a supporter of
St. Louis University Billiken
Basketball.
