AltitudeAbove sea level 8,000ft or 2,400mRegions on the Earth's surface (or in its
atmosphere) that are high above mean sea level are referred to as high altitude. High altitude is sometimes defined to begin at 2,400 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level.[4][5][6]
Because of the lower pressure, the air expands as it rises, which causes it to cool.[8][9] Thus, high altitude air is cold, which causes a characteristic alpine climate. This climate dramatically affects the ecology at high altitude.
BoundaryBoundaries—particularly field boundaries—are among the oldest features in an English rural landscape.[1] Although a boundary itself is an abstract concept, the boundary can often be seen by differences in land use on either side.
ConfluenceKnown also as a conflux,[1] it refers either
to the point where a tributary joins a larger river, called the main stem, or where two streams meet to become the source of a river of a new name, such as the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania creating the Ohio River.
