From the Principal’s desk…
After two days in Sydney this week, I’m happy
to be back behind my desk at Ungarie Central
School. The two days I spent at the Central
Schools Reference Group meeting in Sydney
were extremely valuable. It was great to be able
to connect with over 20 Central School
colleagues from around the state and talk
about issues that are often unique to us.
We are currently in the process of recruiting an
Assistant Principal and Head Teacher
Secondary Studies for 2019. Once the process
is complete, I will be able to share the end
result with you. Watch this space in the
coming weeks!
Year 5/6 have been enjoying their week in
Canberra along with Mrs James and Mr Lewis.
It’s been great to see some Facebook updates
with their photos at different activities over the
week. We look forward to hearing all about it
when they return.
Congratulations to Abby
Wason who completed in the
Northern Zone Clay Target
Shooting Competition at
Tamworth last Thursday and
Friday. Abby finished 1st in the
B Grade ‘Double Barrel’ and
‘Double Rise’ events. Well done Abby.
Next Monday and Tuesday, Mr Dodhy will be
in Sydney at the Aspiring Principal’s
Leadership Program. This is a great
opportunity for Mr Dodhy and we feel
extremely privileged that he was selected in
the program.
Earlier this year a number of our students
entered the Michael McCormack ANZAC Day
writing competition. In a newsletter back in
Term 1, I shared the news that Noah Bryant
had received Highly Commended for his entry.
Noah shared his outstanding piece of writing
at our school ANZAC service this year. In
further news, we received some very exciting
information last week. Mr McCormack will
visit us here at Ungarie Central School next
Thursday 15th November to present Noah with
his certificate. What a huge privilege for Noah
and UCS!
Until next week,
Terrie Payne
