Getting startedWARNINGDo not place your VT1030 inthe bathroom or other humid areas.

Handset rangeThe VT1030 has a range of300 metres outdoors when there is aclear line of sight between the baseand the handset. Any obstructionbetween the base and handset willreduce the range significantly. Withthe base indoors and handset eitherindoors or outdoors, the range willnormally be up to 50 metres. Thickstone walls can severely affect therange.

Signal strengthThe symbol on your handset screenindicates when you are in range. Whenyou are out of range, the symbolflashes, and the screen displaysSearching. You should move closer tothe base if this happens to ensure thefull functionality of your phone.

IMPORTANTDo not connect the telephone lineuntil at least one of the handsets isfully charged.

The base station must be plugged intothe mains power at all times.

Location

You need to place your VT1030 base within 2 metresof a mains power and telephone socket so that the cableswill reach.

Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from other electricalappliances to avoid interference.

Your VT1030 works by sending radio signals betweenthe handset and base. The strength of the signal depends onwhere you site the base. Putting it as high as possible ensuresthe best signal.

Setting up1. Plug the mains power cable into the power socket on the back

of the base and secure the cable behind the retaining clip.Plug the other end into the mains socket and switch on.
