    TONIGHT’S STARTING PITCHER: 21-year-old lefty Josh Hader  will try to turnin Biloxi’s 3rd-straight quality start in his 3rd start since joining the club. Haderwas acquired in the trade with Houston on July 30 for Carlos Gomez and MikeFiers. This will be Hader’s 20th overall appearance this season and 13th startbetween Corpus Christi and Biloxi, going 4-3 with a 3.28 ERA (27 ER/74.0 IP),82 strikeouts, 28 walks and holding opponents to a .234 AVG overall and leftiesto a .210 AVG. Hader was limited to just 2 games in July due to participating inthe Pan Am games for Team USA.

    SHUCKERS USE FIVE-RUN FIFTH TO BEAT WAHOOS THURSDAY:  Trailing4-1 in the bottom of the 5th, the Shuckers struck for 5 runs on 3 hits, takingadvantage of 4 Pensacola walks and holding on for a 6-5 victory Thursday.• The win puts Biloxi up 2-0 in the current series and was the 5th-straight overallagainst Pensacola.     WHO ARE THE SHUCKERS?: Formerly the Huntsville Stars, the new Biloxi professional baseball team re-vealed the new identity on November 24, 2014, as the Biloxi Shuckers took center stage during a ceremonyinside Biloxi’s historic Saenger Theatre. The team name was selected after nearly 60,000 votes were castafter the month-long “Name the Team” contest yielded six finalists. A tenacious oyster is the centerpiece ofthe identity, seen both in the club’s primary logo, home and alternate caps. The letters “BS” to make up theroad cap designation - the Biloxi Lighthouse logo, resiliently rising above historic storm waters. Gulf Blue,Sand, Coral, and Black make up the club’s new official colors, paying tribute to the Gulf Coast. The Shuckersare the first professional sports team to use this color combination.ABOUT BILOXI: Founded in the late 17th century by French explorers, Biloxi has a population of 44,578and is the home of Keesler Air Force Base...     BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the rst since 1908. TheGulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewersof the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.
