• Movies are made from books. Wizard of Oz and Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory are good examples of books made into movies. Images and words turn into fast pacing as actions come alive on the big screen. Harry Potter and Jumangi are examples of fast paced movies made from books. Cat in the Hat is a short book that had to take up 90 minutes with weird characters and a convoluted plot. Talents are important: Jim Carey made a good Cat because he can act maniacal. Costumes are really important too. Musicians add tone to the movie making it dramatic or sad or scary or exciting. There is magic in filmmaking. Filmmakers can make images come to life on the big screen. Hollywood is a place where dreams come “true.”
