Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers! We

will offer a special blessing for all our mothers at

    the Masses this weekend.

A week from Monday, on May 20, I have

scheduled a town hall meeting at 7 PM in the

parish hall to share some news about several

developments at our parish and school. Topics

will include the following: We have cleaned

out the old gym in preparation for the

refurbishment of the kitchen in the old gym, all

of which has been paid for by donations. We

have made several security enhancements in

the school to protect our children with a few

more adjustments needed this summer. I would

like to realign our social organizations, so our

Men’s Club and Women’s Guild serve both the

parish and the school families, as well as the

needs of the men and women of all ages.

To help present briefly on these topics, I have

called on some members of our parish council,

school administration, and our parish chapter of

the St. Vincent de Paul Society. I look forward

    to their presentations and discussion.

If you haven’t had a chance to contribute to

the Annual Diocesan Appeal this year, you

received a blank pledge card in the mail from

our parish office. Contributions of any amount

are appreciated. Please help us to reach our

    goal.

    -Msgr. Gray

    Sponsor of the Week

What is Totus Tuus? The Totus Tuus summer catechetical program is

a week-long “parish mission” for Catholic youth

in grades one through twelve. It is dedicated

to sharing the Gospel and promoting the

    Catholic faith through evangelization,

    catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic

worship. Totus Tuus provides an environment in

which the Eucharist is central to the day.

Prayer provides the structure, but the Mass is

truly the “source and summit” of the daily

schedule. Totus Tuus instructs young people in

the basic tenets of the Catholic faith to

cultivate both a firm intellectual grounding and

a solid personal relationship with Christ. Totus

Tuus encourages young people to begin

discerning God’s call in their life to be married,

a priest, a religious, or single. Totus Tuus

demonstrates that one can be a faithful,

practicing Catholic and still have fun.

We have a Totus Tuus team coming to St.

Thomas the week of June 30th. The younger

grades will participate during the day and

older grades will meet in the evening.

Registration materials are available on the

tables in the back of church, as well as the

    school and parish offices.

We are also looking for a parish family to open

their home to two of the girls on the team from

Saturday night , June 29 through Thursday,

night, July 4. The team is busy throughout the

days and evenings and just need a place to

sleep and have a small breakfast.

A Simple Supper will be Served

We have all heard that there is power in prayer , but what if my prayer

isn’t answered? Does God still hear me? Does he care about the small

stuff? Am I even praying the right way? Join the St. Thomas Retreat Team

for a night to focus on prayer and how to listen to God’s leadings. Gain

insight on how to be the kind of prayer warrior your family, friends, church

and country need! Don’t be shy, bring a friend! A $5 donation will be

welcomed at the door. Please R.S.V.P. to Carol Harn at 309-370-3175 or

program. We have a collection box where you can leave new or gently

used shoes including flip-flops, sandals, tennis shoes, etc. All shoes

collected will be donated to WaterStep. They sell the shoes to an
