MURRINDINDI SHIREMurrindindi Shire is situated on Melbourne’s peri-urban fringe and encompasses the charming rural townships of Alexandra, Marysville, Yea, Kinglake and Eildon. The Shire benefits from great natural beauty and tourist attractions such as Lake Eildon, picturesque national parks, the Great Victorian Rail Trail and access to Victoria’s snowfields. The Shire is located within close proximity to Melbourne, a lovely 60 to 90 minute drive depending on your route.

Murrindindi Shire has faced a set of unique challenges in recent years. The 2009 bushfires were Australia’s most devastating natural disaster and Murrindindi Shire was the municipality most affected. While the consequences of the fires on our Shire’s people and landscape are still evident, the scars are healing. Importantly, the fires do not define the region or its people. The focus of the community is now on the future.

This is evident in the township of Marysville which following significant investment in new infrastructure over recent years is now very much open for business. We invite you to join us in Marysville to share our stories and see first hand all that our beautiful region has to offer.

Increasing demand for Australian products is providing greater opportunities for our agriculture sector, leading to the development of significant agriculture proposals. However, these developments can test the current planning framework and community expectations. This session introduces a new Victorian government facilitation initiative which aims to increase investment in Victoria by facilitating proponents through the development approval process. It will provide an overview of how the model will operate, outline key resources available and in development, and will explore approaches to connect with proponents early in the application process.

His major account was Heineken beer, and his work on that account was considered one of Britain’s best ad campaigns of its time. Russel returned to Melbourne in 1995 and co-founded Leonardi Brandhouse. He spent the next 11 years running his own agencies with various partners before joining George Patterson Y&R, Australia’s oldest agency brand, as CEO in 2006.
