9000 Family Carrier Ethernet Switch Routers
9700 SeriesThe flagship of ECI's Carrier Ethernet switch/router family, the 9700 series brings the qualities of transport networks to a scalable packet platform. The 9700 supports an industry-leading wirespeed density of 1,200 Gigabit Ethernet ports per rack and 40 Gbps per slot today, with up to 100 Gbps in a future release without a forklift upgrade. The high capacity of the 9700 makes it ideally
suited for metro core deployments for Ethernet-based business and residential services.At the heart of the 9700 is ShadeTree™, a field-proven IP/MPLS control plane enhanced with advanced Carrier Ethernet features for the delivery of MEF services, including E-Line, E-LAN, and E-Tree, as well as the latest Ethernet OAM standards from the IEEE and ITU.The 9700 series is comprised of the SR9710, a 10-slot 400 Gbps system (1 Tbps in a future release), and the SR9705, a 5-slot 200 Gbps system (500 Gbps in a future release). The systems are fully redundant and all line cards are fully interchangeable between platforms.
9200 SeriesThe 9200 series of access switches and demarcation units delivers wire-speed performance in a small form factor for Ethernet aggregation and Circuit Emulation services. A complementary offering to the 9700 series, the 9200 provides Ethernet demarcation at the customer premises and cost-effective aggregation in service provider access networks. Resilient Carrier Ethernet access rings are supported for better infrastructure utilization with fast service restoration. Migration of legacy services is supported through T1/E1 Circuit Emulation, enabling those services to be conveyed over the metro Ethernet network via MPLS.The 9200 series is comprised of the AS9205 compact carrier-grade Fast Ethernet aggregation switch, the AS9220 carrier-grade multiservice aggregation switch, the AS9215 GbE to 10 GE aggregation switch, the DM9234 high-performance Ethernet demarcation unit, the DM9225 compact demarcation unit, and the DM9225-E multiservice demarcation unit.
