Page 4 Glow for God: HAWKFEST 2015 By: Austin Hawkinson & Matthew Lardinois The 4th Annual Hawkfest was held Saturday, September 18th, from 5- 8pm, and the weather was perfect. Hawkfest was in planning throughout the summer. Hawkfest is not only for current families at Harvester, but it is also an outreach to people in the community. Everyone is invited to Hawkfest! Lisa Blacker started helping last year with Hawkfest committee, and they decided to have it earlier this year. This year, the theme for Hawkfest was a glow party called “Glow for God”, rather than traditional fall festivals that the school has had in the past. She says if we didn’t have God, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to have fun festivals and school. This year, Hawkfest featured inflatables, class games, the jail, the sling shot, the dunk tank, and a game truck, which was donated by a Harvester family. The Glow for God party was in the gym, along with glow-in-the- dark putt-putt golf, ski ball, and hula hoops. She is very happy to be a part of Hawkfest for the past two years, and is thankful for her committee and their help. Chick-fil-A came out to Hawkfest and donated part of the proceeds back to Harvester. A lot of families and volunteers donated their time and services, and Mrs. Blacker was very excited. Her favorite part was the glow party and glow toys. She liked seeing the kids have fun and their eyes light up. Families got a chance to come together and have a good time. Friday Night Lights
