The first petrol car
The first petrol car was made by Karl Benz.
He patented it in January 1886
He began selling it in June 1886
Henry Ford Henry Ford made the first mass produced car, the Model T.
Ford started selling the Model T in October 1908
It was the first car the public could buy
The cost of a Model T was US$360. The average salary in America at that time was $750 a year
By 1916 Ford had made 15 007 034 Model Ts.
