Park only in designated spaces (enforced 24 hours a day). The University provides a shuttle during the fall and spring semesters. The shuttle is available without charge to all University students, faculty, and staff, and serves major areas of the University as well as the Metrorail station. The shuttle system is designed so that shuttle buses consistently arrive at each station every six to eight minutes during class days and every 15 to 20 minutes all other times. It facilitates use of perimeter parking lots and provides a convenient means of traveling around campus without using a personal vehicle. The shuttle service used in conjunction with the discount parking permit is an excellent value. MOTORIST ASSIST PROGRAM (MAP) The MAP assists persons who experience minor vehicle problems on the Coral Gables campus. During fall and spring semesters, MAP can provide jump-starts for dead batteries, access to locked vehicles, and temporary fixes for flat tires. Call 305-284-6666 (on campus, phone 8-6666). BLUE-LIGHT TELEPHONES Blue-light telephones, marked by a blue light for ease in nighttime identification, are in more than 105 locations throughout the Coral Gables campus. By pressing the red button on any of the tele- phones, the caller is directly connected to the University of Miami Police Department, and the caller’s location is automatically identified. SAFETY ESCORT SERVICE The University of Miami Police Department provides free on-campus safety escorts 24/7. Any student, staff, or faculty member may request a safety escort by calling the UM Police Department at 305-284-6666 (on campus, phone 8-6666), or from any emergency blue-light telephone. Please make your request 10 to 15 minutes before the escort is needed, if possible. REPORTING EMERGENCY/ NON-EMERGENCY INCIDENTS Call the UM Police Department at 305-284-6666 to report any incident or for police assistance on the Coral Gables campus. Call 305-284-6666 to reach the police administrative offices. A police officer will respond to assist you and, if necessary, to document an incident. IBIS RIDE SHUTTLE During fall and spring semesters, the free Ibis Ride Shuttle service operates between the Coral Gables campus and the attractions of Coconut Grove. SUNSET SHUTTLE During fall and spring semesters, the free Sunset Shuttle operates Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. between the Coral Gables campus (Stanford Circle) and South Miami’s Shops at Sunset Place. The shuttle stops at the Ponce de Leon Garage before proceeding on to the Publix (serviced until 10 p.m. when the store closes) and Sunset Place stops. ROSENSTIEL SHUTTLE Monday through Friday during fall and spring semesters, the Rosenstiel Shuttle service operates between the Coral Gables campus (McLamore Plaza) and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science campus on Virginia Key, with a stop at the Vizcaya Metrorail station. Undergraduate students have boarding priority.
