Mis queridos amigos en Cristo,
Ruego por que estén disfrutando de una mara-
villosa temporada Navideña. La presencia de
nuestro Señor Jesus en nuestras vidas nos brinda espe-
ranza y luz. Que acudamos a El todo el tiempo para
encontrar paz y alegría.
En relación a esto, quisiera informales de un cambio
que habrá en la política de Intenciones en la Misa, aquí
en Santa María, de acuerdo con lo establecido por la
Diócesis de Joliet. Empezando el domingo 5 de enero,
2020, tendremos múltiples intenciones en las Misas de
8:30 a.m. y 12:30 p.m. He tomado esta decisión debi-
do a la reducción en el numero de Misas Dominicales,
y el crecimiento de nuestra comunidad parroquial. A
veces la gente tiene que esperar algunos meses para
poder anotar su intención en Domingo. Espero que es-
to satisfaga la necesidad. También, los donativos reci-
bidos por esas intenciones adicionales se usaran para
beneficiar a nuestro Cementerio “El Calvario” para
ayudar con los gastos de nuevos caminos necesarios.
Para su información, aquí les dejo las normas respecto
a las intenciones múltiples en las Misas, de acuerdo a
la Diócesis de Joliet:

My dear friends in Christ,
I pray that you are enjoying a wonderful
season of Christmas. The presence of the
Lord Jesus in our lives gives us hope and light. May
we turn to Him at all times to find peace and joy.
On a related note, I would like to inform you of a
change in our Mass Intention policy here at St. Mary’s
in accord with the policy of the Diocese of Joliet. Be-
ginning on Sunday January 5, 2020, our 8:30am and
12:30pm Masses on Sunday will be multiple intention
Masses. I have made this decision due to the reduction
in the number of Sunday Masses and the growth of our
parish community. Sometimes people have had to
wait for many months to have a Mass intention offered
on a Sunday. I hope this new policy will satisfy the
need. Also, the extra stipends received for those inten-
tions will be used for the benefit of our Calvary Ceme-
tery (which needs new driveways.)

multiple intentions Masses according to the Diocese
of Joliet:

A REFLEXION ON
HOLY FAMILY FEAST
St. Paul gives us some advice on
family life in Colossians 3:12-21:
Put on then, as God's chosen
ones, holy and beloved, com-
passion, kindness, lowliness,
meekness, and patience, for-
bearing one another and, if one
has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other; as the
Lord has forgiven you, so you
also must forgive. And above
all these put on love, which
binds everything together in perfect har-
mony. And let the peace of Christ rule in
your hearts, to which indeed you were
called in the one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teach and admonish one another in all wis-
dom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiri-
tual songs with thankfulness in your hearts
to God. And whatever you do, in word or
deed, do everything in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Fa-
ther through him. Wives, be subject to your
husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Hus-
bands, love your wives, and do not be
harsh with them. Children, obey your par-
ents in everything, for this pleases the
Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your chil-
dren, lest they become discouraged (RSV).
The Holy Family feast is a good time to re-
member the family unit and pray for our hu-
man and spiritual families. We also may take
this feast to reflect on the value and sanctity of
the family unit, and to evaluate our own family
life. What ways may it be improved? What
would Jesus, Mary, and Joseph do? Finally, we
can use this feast to ask ourselves what are we
doing to promote the family within our own
cultures, neighborhoods, and communities.

LA SAGRADA FAMILIA
San Pablo nos aconseja sobre la vida
familiar en Colosenses 3:12-21:
Pónganse, pues, el vestido que con-
viene a los elegidos de Dios, sus san-
tos muy queridos: la compasión tier-
na, la bondad, la humildad, la manse-
dumbre, la paciencia. Sopórtense y
perdónense unos a otros si uno tiene
motivo de queja contra otro. Como el
Señor los perdonó, hagan ustedes lo
mismo. Por encima de esta vestidura
pondrán como cinturón el amor, que
lo hace todo perfecto. Así la paz de Cristo
reinará en sus corazones, pues para esto fue-
ron llamados y reunidos. Finalmente sean
agradecidos. Que la palabra de Cristo habi-
te y se sienta a gusto en ustedes. Tengan sa-
biduría, para que puedan enseñar y aconse-
jarse unos a los otros; canten a Dios de todo
corazón y con gratitud salmos, himnos y
alabanzas espontáneas. Y todo lo que pue-
dan decir o hacer, háganlo en el nombre del
Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios Padre por
medio de El. Esposas, amen a sus maridos
como conviene entre Cristianos. Maridos,
amen a sus esposas y no les amarguen la vi-
da. Hijos, obedezcan a sus padres en todo,
porque eso es lo correcto entre Cristianos.
Padres, no sean pesados con sus hijos, para
que no se desanimen.
La Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia es un buen
momento para recordar la unidad familiar y
orar por nuestras familias humanas y espiritua-
les. También tomamos esta fiesta para re-
flexionar sobre el valor y la santidad de la uni-
dad familiar, y para evaluar nuestra propia vida
familiar. ¿Como la podemos mejorar? ¿Que
harían Jesús, Maria y José? Finalmente, pode-
mos también usar esta fiesta para cuestionarnos
a nosotros mismos sobre qué estamos hacien-
do para promover los valores familiares entre
nuestras culturas, vecindarios y comunidades.

Infant Baptisms: Congratulations!
We look forward to welcoming your child into the life of the
Church. It is required for parents to attend two preparation
classes before having their child baptized. Please call the
Parish Center to register for classes prior to the birth of your
child. When choosing godparents, please keep in mind that
godparents are required to be practicing Catholics who have
received the sacraments of Baptism, the Eucharist, and
Confirmation and are at least 16 years of age.
WEDDINGS: Arrangements are to be made six months in advance
with one of the priests.
RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION): Saturdays, 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.
in the Church, or anytime by appointment.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Call the Parish Center immediately
in case of emergency, or to schedule a visitation for the
homebound or for the hospitalized.
NEW PARISHIONERS: Registration in parish required for
Baptism, Religious Ed. Classes, etc. Please stop by our Parish
Office between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
HOMEBOUND, NURSING HOMES AND HOSPITAL VISITS:
