The next Roche internship in Medicinal CHemistry (RiCH), in Basel Switzerland starts on
1. September 2018 and will last 12 months (until end of August 2019)
You are a chemistry student in a University who in the 2018-2019 academic year will be in the penultimate or last
year of study or at the “Year in Industry” junction of your studies
You are highly a motivated student with a strong enthusiasm for Organic and Medicinal Chemistry

pharmaceutical industry and have the opportunity to widen your scientific network significantly
You will refine your skills which are required to become a successful professional scientist
Development of further key skills - you will receive a specially designed tuition program to greatly enhance
your scientific thinking /discussing ability and presentation skills
RiCH students work in chemistry laboratories within our project teams - you will be fully
integrated and be exposed to key elements of Modern Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Discovery @ Roche
Collaboration - you will work in a matrix organisation and interact with chemists, biologists, molecular design
scientists et al. and at the end of RiCH 2018 be able to define your next steps much more clearly

Roche internship in Medicinal CHemistry -RiCH- the tuition program -to educate and to entertain-
The tuition program will make you more proficient, efficient and focussed in presenting and handling
discussions. It prepares you for the day that someone asks THE chemistry question.
We will meet every two weeks on Thursdays at 16.00h for 2h
We will have synthesis discussions, labletters, functional group chemistry discussion, . . .
You will frequently present your contribution to the other students (pechakucha)
We have two poster sessions in the Medicinal chemistry department and you show your work
Additionally, you will regularly present your contribution in the individual project teams

All RiCH students will life together in one appartment block with individual rooms, en-suite facilities, a
shared kitchen and meeting room. This is almost in the city center of Basel which makes commuting easy
Cost of living is high in Switzerland and you will receive a «decent» monthly salary
Many apéros / activities on site where students are 100% welcome
Frequent social events @ pRED, Basel site, MedChem (happy hours, skidays, summerparty, X-mas party, ...)
Roche Sports Club (Football, Badminton, scuba-diving, golf, ...)
