1 Cor 11:3 I want you to know that every head of every man

is Christ; the head of the woman is her husband, and the head

of Christ is the Father

1 Cor 11:8-9 Man was not made from woman, but womanfrom man; neither was man created for woman, but woman

for man

1 Cor 11:11-12 Yet, in the Lord, woman is not independent

from man, nor man independent of woman. In the same way

that woman was made from man so man is born of woman

EQUALITY IN STATUS; SUBORDINATION

IN ROLES

Functional subordination on the other hand

refers to a role or function ordained by God

and therefore our duty to fulfill. Two persons

can be absolutely equal in status- as human

beings- while one person plays a role of

subordination to the other. In the Scriptures,

status and subordination are 2 separateissues.

each other in the roles they perform

in the family.

Do not dominate

Do not manipulate

Do not control

Do not nag

Do not argue

Do not criticize his God-given authority

Give reverence, respect and honor to your husband

Do good to him all the days of his life

Honor him by accepting his headship

Do not insult nor debase him. Use words which are

helpful, without reproach, along with good behavior

Make his priorities your priorities

Do not speak negatively about him to friends or to

family members

Always rejoice in the Lord, and in the husband he

gave you

Do not deprive one another. This also refers to sexualduties

Do not preach

Support him in all his endeavors

Uphold him in your daily prayer

Encourage him through your actions and words

Raise his self esteem by prioritizing him and spending

time with him

Surround him with your love body, emotions, ind,

spirit

Fulfill well your duties and responsibilities in the

house

Most important, have a regular and dedicated

PRAYER LIFE. Visit the blessed sacrament, ask for the

guidance of the holy spirit and exercise the gifts ofthe holy spirit for the outpouring of blessings and

wisdom

Prayers for a Wife and Mother

A wifes prayer

O merciful Lord God, who in the beginning did

take Eve out of the side of Adam and did give her

to him as a helpmate: grant me grace to live

worthy of the honorable estate and matrimony to

which Thou has called me, that I may love my

husband with a pure and chaste love,acknowledging him as my head, and truly

reverencing and obeying him in all good things;

That hereby I may please him and live with him

in all Christian serenity. Keep me from all

worldliness and vanity. Help me oh Lord, that I

may, under him, prudently and discreetinglyguide and govern tempted; enable me to

difficulty, to refresh him in weariness, and asfar as may be, to advise him in doubt.

Give me understanding so to fulfill my part in the

education of our children, that they may be the joy in

this world and our glory in the next. Grant that ourperfet union herenay be the beginning if the still
