NEW JOB IN NASHVILLE
FIRST DAY ON THE
JOB…
STAFFING LIMITATIONS
Our VRC assistant curator positions are
only 30 hours per week, hence I found
supplementary income as a teacher
assistant grading exams, and a library
fellowship at Cheekwood Estate &
Gardens.
PROMOTION/JOB SECURITY
My promotion from assistant curator to
director was no doubt aided by the
initiatives and volunteer efforts I
participated in across campus.
These included: digital humanities
workshops, social media, networking
skills, and collaborative projects.
OUR DEPARTMENT & VRC CORE SERVICES
Our VRC is located in the building of the History of Art
department, and serves approximately 11 faculty.
We cover basic classroom tech support (first
responders before AV Support arrive), checking the
classrooms first thing in the morning, pdf scanning,
digitizing images, image copyright permissions, lending
equipment, cataloging of new images and our backlog
of legacy files (21,000 remaining last count).
