Galveston County 4-H Roundup Entries Due: February 15, 2018, Online

When: March 3, 2018, 8:30 am

Where: Galveston County Extension Office 4102-B Main St. (FM 519), La Marque

County Roundup will include the following contests:

Duds to Dazzle Teams of 3 to 5 receive textiles and each team has 60 minutes to create a new product using items from the supply closet. Teams then present their item to judges.

Fashion Show This is designed for 4-H members to showcase their skills in buying and construction. You will create a clothing or fashion item, turn in

paperwork explaining your item, complete an interview with a panel of judges, and last but not least, model the outfit on the runway.

Fashion Story Board This is an industry-inspired method of displaying original designs. The storyboard “tells the story” of the designer’s idea. The storyboard includes original illustrations, flats, and more to promote the design. This year’s theme is “ Fashion Design to the Rescue – Superheroes.”

Educational Presentations Share your 4-H project experience by giving a presentation,

by yourself or with up to four of your 4-H friends. Some categories available to present on are Beef, Food & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, and Shooting

Sports, among other categories.

Public Speaking Interested in presenting on current events and issues? 4-H members have the opportunity to present a persuasive 5-7 minute speech. Unlike Educational Presentations, visual aids and props may not be used.

Share-The-Fun With up to nine 4-H members, or individually, you can “share-the-fun” in one

of several categories, including: Celebrate 4-H, Choreographed Routines, Dramedy, Musical/Instrumental, Poetry/Prose, Solo/Band Performance, or Vocal.

**Members participating in any of these events at District Roundup must participate at County Roundup. ** For more information, email [email protected] or call (281) 309-5058.
