The following portraits are in the polfeffion of Mrs. H. A. Mayo, viz., John. Alex. Ogilvie (oils); Elizabeth-Mary, his wife (miniature); Mrs. Ogilvie, his mother (oils); Janet-Rebecca (water-colour); and her hulband, Col. Alex. Ogilvie (miniature); Mary-Hunter, Janet-Rebecca, and Charles-Spencer as children (miniature); Charles-Spencer as a boy (water.colour), and as a young man (minia. ture); and fevera! old miniatures of the MilTes Man.

Arms of Ogilvi(, of Auchiries. Quarterly, 1 and 4. Argent, a lion paiTaDt guard ant gules crowned or, Findlaler. 2. and 3. Argent, a crofs engrailed fable, Sinclair; the whole within a bordure azure.

This family is of Welfh extraction, being derived from the County of Carmar· then; and at Laugharne in particular the name has been of frequent occurrence. Sir William Perrot, of Haroldfton, co. Pembroke, Knt. (will proved 7th June, 15031 executed a power of attorney, 9th June, 2 Hen. VII (1487), by which he placed John Perrot, of Haverfordweft, in polfeffion of the lordlbip and manor of Tallacham or Laugharne. In 2 Eliz. the Inquis. p. m. of William Perrot was taken there, and Sir John Perrore, Lord Deputy of Ireland, was the owner at the time of his attainder (Archaeologia Cambrenfis, ,865, vol. xi, pp. 30, 244), and the name is found in the regifters of Laughame (which begin in 1645), from ,657 until a recent date.

THOMAS PERROTI', born at Llanybri, near Carmarthen, a ftudent under Mr. James Owen at W rexham, was admitted to the Pretbyterian miniftry 6th Augufl, 1706, at Knutsford, and ferved fu«effively at Newmarket, co. Flint, and Brombrough, Chelbire, until 1719, when he became Tutor or Principal of the Academy (now College) at Carmartben, where he died 26th Dec., '733. His brother,

JOHN PERROTT, was Presbyterian MiniA:er at Wotton-under-Edge, co. Glouc., from ~irca 1720, until his death in 1749, and had i1rue by Ann, his wife, eight children, five of whom were liVing in 17#' viz., JOHN, eldeft fon, SAMUEL, Muv, FRANCES, and ELIZABETH.. His win, dated 14th Dec., 1744-, was proved 26th Jan., '749-50, by his daughter Frances (then wife of William Young) power being referved to his daughter Elizabeth, the other executrix (24 Greenly, P.C.c.). Admon. of Frances Young, of St. Andrew's Holborn, London, was granted to ha hulband '4th Dec., '754. Of thefe children,

ending Michaelmas, 1757, at Carmarthen. He ferved at Frome Selwood, 1762, whence he removed to Devizes in 1764, and then to Yeovil in 1768, and finally fettled in Cork, Ireland, in 1770, where he died 16th Oct., 1796. He married at Yeovil, by licence, 27th Nov., 1769, Mary, daughter of Samuel Willy, of Yeovil (a relation of George Willy, of New Park, Devizes, who died unmarried in 1770, aged 75; will, 3rd March, 1770, proved 19th Jan., 1771,39 Trevor, P.C.C.; and a legatee of the latter's brother, William Willy, an Eaft India Director, M.P. for Devizes, 1747, till his death 22nd May, 1765, aged 61; will, 25th Dec., 1749, proved 17th Auguft, 1765, 317 Rufuworth, P.C.c.),' by whom he had iffue three fons, THOMAS, SAMUEL, and JOHN.
