Inside Emmy18 JUNE 2O2O
A glimpse inside Emmy...Mazal Tov to Les Gescheit who received an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List for his services to the Jewish community of Melbourne. Congratulations Les, what an honour! We were also delighted to celebrate Lotti Tugendhaft’s 100th birthday at Emmy recently. Lotti absolutely loved all the beautiful cards and gifts she received; however, the best part of her day was seeing many of her family, including great grandchildren through the windows.
This week we announced important changes to visiting loved ones at Emmy. These will take effect from Monday 22 June.
From 22 June, a resident can have one visit (of up to two people) per day for a maximum of two hours in their room.
Visiting Hours (all visits must be completed by the close of visiting hours each day)9.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday 10.00am – 12.00pm Sunday in Gandel House1.00pm – 3.00pm Sunday in Dandenong RoadWe would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support as we continue to manage a cautious return to business as usual.
Please ensure that your family and friends read the guidelines that were sent to families on 15 June. They are available on our website, and posted on the slatboards for residents.

Synagogue servicesWe are currently reviewing the recommencement of synagogue services. Rest assured, we understand the important need for residents to have access to dedicated pastoral care and hope to reinstate services soon. Once resumed, services will be available for residents only. We also hope to welcome back our external Emmy community in the near future, once restrictions ease further across the State.
Back to Emmy!We are looking forward to families returning for more regular visits to loved ones, please remember to:
• Practice good hand hygiene• Social distancing of 1.5m• If unwell, please stay away
With the virus still in the community, please continue to maintain vigilance at all times.
