HOW TO PURCHASE PIANOS FROM KeyArts Piano of Houston

HOW TO BUY FROM US AND START YOUR SELECTION OF A PIANO

There is a Yamaha or Kawai piano for everyone; you just have to find the piano for YOU. Selecting a piano should be an enjoyable experience, and to help insure it is, there is a list of 5 things to do while shopping for a piano: • Look at our Yamaha/Kawai Piano List to see all models, dates, sizes

and either grand pianos and uprights. • Select 1 or more pianos by “item” number and send by email to

KeyArts @ att.net. • Include your Zip code, Name and Telephone number so we can com-

municate with you. • Give us some information about delivery i.e. steps, stairs, elevators,

any difficult situation such as hills, rocky terrain, gate codes and other conditions that may be difficult.

• Consider your piano budget. We have price ranges that vary from about $3200 up, depending on the size, date and maker.

• Consider the size piano that you are comfortable with in your space. Grand pianos are from 5’3” - 9’. Vertical (or Upright) pianos come in heights of 48”, 49”, 50” and 52”.

• Measure grand pianos from the front of the keys to the far end of the pianos in feet and inches. Also allow at least 2’ additional for a matching bench or adjustable artist bench.

• Look at the age of the pianos. This date is the original build date. Serial numbers cannot be posted but can be given to you by email or over the phone.

• Decide how you want to finance your purchase. We accept cash, certified bank checks, credit cards, and bank wire. In some cases we cannot accept credit cards or there may be a fee of 3% over $10,000. This can be negotiable.

• Warranty: Piano warranties are 5 years and covers normal issues that may happen in any piano. However, warranty service is rarely used because our pianos are factory reconditioned, crated and in-spected upon shipment from Japan to the U.S. All pianos arrive to customers in crates for the best protection.

• Customers may use their piano technician and a local mover if needed. Both must be experienced in their trades and we do talk to the local service personnel in advance.

• At this point there is no sales tax on out of state sales. Check with your state tax department to find out if there is any tax due on out of state purchases.

THE PROCESS OF INTERSTATE SHIPPING TO U.S.A. DESTINATIONS, CANADA & ALASKA

You are always covered by insurance by all carriers. Typical delivery time can be from 4-10 days or more. We keep in touch with you about the shipping schedules or any delays. Canadian and Alaskan shipping takes longer. • Before we load the piano on the shipping carrier, the complete

amount should be paid. We will send an invoice prior to shipping for your approval and accuracy.

• The shipping company will advise us the day that the piano will ship and an approximate delivery date.

• In most cases we use a local piano mover to accept the piano from the interstate shipper and then it will be delivered to the final destina-tion.

• The local piano mover will uncrate the piano and will complete set up and delivery.

• Follow up tuning at no charge should be done approximately 30 days after final delivery.

• Benches are usually shipped with the pianos or shipped by UPS or FedX.

ACCESSORIES AND HOW TO KEEP YOUR PIANO IN TOP CONDITION

For the care of your piano, treat it just like your as fine furniture. If you keep it in showroom condition, it should retain significant value over decades. Yearly tuning, weekly dusting with a soft clothe or swiffer duster is the best. We recommend Cory Products. . • Tune yearly to A=440hz, Standard Pitch. • Remove dirt, dust and fingerprints on a regular basis to keep your

piano as-new. • Be careful of small objects that may drop between the keys. • Absolutely no candles, liquids or other material should be placed on

the high-polish surfaces. Pianos covers are the exception. • In low humidity environments, you should add humidity for a range

of 45% - 85%. Pianos function best in this bracket. If you have very low humidity in the 15% range you should invest in the Hu-midistat or other humidifying equipment. All piano will be ad-versely in extreme climates. Extremely dry or wet conditions will void the warranty.

• ACCESSORIES - We provide: caster cups, polish kit, key if appro-priate, 1 tuning after delivery and warranty.

ADDITIONAL PIANO ITEMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE: • Pedal extenders for small children • Piano Lamps • Large Duet Benches (Tufted—Vinal or Leather • Jansen Artist Benches • Grand and Upright piano covers—Decorative and Utility Covers • Daamp Chaser & Humidistat Humidity control Systems for Uprights

Placement of this or any piano in tropical or desert environments where extremes are common is not recommended and may void the warranty unless proper controls are in place. See KeyArts Humidity & Temp guides on our websites. Your piano bench, if new, is fully warranted for one year from the date of original retail purchase of your piano. Installations of any add-on player piano systems, digital enhancement system, humidity control system or similar products, does not void this warranty. This warranty does not extend to pianos located outside the fifty United States of America, the District of Columbia and Canada. Transferable Warranty If you decide to sell your piano, this warranty is transferable to the purchaser.
