A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING! MEQUON, WI. — The Homestead Choirs will be performing their first concert of the season on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:00 P.M. in the Homestead High School James Barr Auditorium. A Grand Night for Singing will feature all of the HHS choirs –Tartan, Treble, and Highlander Choirs, as well as the co-curricular Camerata – performing music of many different eras and traditions. The concert will open with the Broadway tune after which this annual performance is named and will include a variety of choral gems from such composers as Monteverdi, Copland, Greaves, Sullivan, Schubert, Hassler, Aguiar, and Vaughan Williams. Music of different genres from America, France, Italy, England, Brazil, and Germany will be featured in the program. Traditional music including a spiritual, a gospel song, and a shape-note tune, as well as musical theatre pieces and vocal jazz arrangements will also grace the stage. Come and meet the 2013-2014 HHS Choirs and hear their first term of learning. We hope to see you all on November 12th!
