We are a volunteer-driven organization with one part-time administrative employee. Our volunteer board consists of small business owners, based in Alameda, that work to keep GABA running month to month, year to year. GABA is an organiza- tion of its independent members, mostly small businesses, a lot of whom do most, if not all, of their business GABA President Edward Owens is the owner of SpeedPro East Bay. here in Alameda. GABA advocates for those busi- nesses to the City of Alameda government, and to other business organizations in and around Alameda. I’ve just received word that the city’s pro- posed Minimum Wage Ordinance will be dis- cussed at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. It is listed as agenda item 6D, second from last. I believe this may affect many businesses in Alameda, I urge business owners and members of the public to attend the meeting and voice opin- ions.
