Task 3Read “Sense and Sensibility” chapters one and two then answer the following questions:

a) What are the legal arrangements for inheritance for Mrs Dashwood and her three daughters?

b) How do these arrangements limit their freedom of choice and action?

c) What do you think Austen’s attitude is to these arrangements?

does she employ?

f) How does Austen indicate her attitude to these characters?
