When Jared and I founded Alloy ten years ago, the goal was to make beautiful buildings with truly exceptional residences. By bringing the architecture and design services in house, we have been able to bring to market several award-winning projects. Alloy is an established brand known for promoting thoughtful design that adds lasting value for its end users and the greater community. About the same time Alloy was founded I bought my first home in Vero Beach. As those in Vero then predicted, Vero shortly became my primary residence. I’m now fortunate enough to run into a bounty of family and friends around town. Comparing our work in New York to what was available in Vero at the time, I was personally frustrated by the lack of contemporary and thoughtfully designed homes. I ultimately decided to embark on a journey to build a home for my family that was warm, intimate and that celebrated the virtues of living on the ocean in Vero. Shortly after I moved into my new home on Ocean Drive, I saw the property at 8050 and recounting my own experiences in the marketplace immediately knew we could do something special here in Vero. With that I am very proud to present 8050 where we truly believe we are developing the finest new development project Vero Beach has seen. When building in pristine environments our responsibility as architects and developers extends beyond the crafting of buildings. When I first visited 8050 with Katherine, I was enamored with the expanse of the horizon, the quality of the existing native habitat and the vibrant colors of the flora. Before we started the design process we established that the preservation of the site’s most treasured features – the landscape itself - was a requirement our team of designers, architects, builders and craftsmen would have to embrace. We wanted to ensure that each and every residence had an uncompromised experience from the very moment they arrived on the grounds. Focusing on the landscape design we carefully calibrated an arrival sequence that celebrates the site’s virtues as it transitions from a native habitat to a tropical dune habitat. At the residences, several penetrations through the building draw visitors to the ocean by exposing the horizon while bathing the interiors in natural light. Expansive spaces and views add to the drama of arrival where residents enjoy homes that will be carefully oriented toward view and light. In addition, after working through several material palates at Katherine’s home, we are confident residents will be rewarded by the luxurious yet understated finishes we’ve curated.
