Aston Hall

Cinderella lived in a house just like Aston Hall

Is Aston Hall like your house?

Think about how Aston Hall is different to your house

Cinderella lived with her family.

She had a Daddy, a Step-Mother and two Step Sisters.

Who do you have in your family?

Cinderella’s Family Cinderella

Cinderella had a very special friend called Buttons.

He looked after Cinderella when she was sad.

Do you have a special friend like Buttons?

Cinderella and Buttons had to do lots of work in the kitchen.

Do you have to do any of these jobs in the kitchen?

Rolling out pastry.

Basting meat and turning the spit.

Chopping up meat.

A very important invitation arrived at Cinderella’s house. It said:

Prince Charming invites all the ladies in the land to a grand ball at Aston Hall

A messenger brought the invitation to Cinderella’s house. How does the post get to your house? How do you think the messenger travelled to Cinderella’s house?

Cinderella was very excited because Prince Charming had invited all the ladies in the land to his ball, even Cinderella!

But she hadn’t got anything to wear! How could she go to the ball in her servant’s clothes?

Her Fairy Godmother arrived to make sure that Cinderella could go to the ball looking like a Princess.

Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother asked her fetch some things to make a magical coach to take her to the ball. What things did Cinderella have to fetch?

Six White MiceA Pumpkin

Four Lizards

A Dog

And she turned them into a beautiful coach ready to take

Cinderella to the Ball

Cinderella had a beautiful coach ready to take her to the Ball, but she hadn’t got anything to wear.

Her Fairy Godmother did some more magic, and turned her from a poor servant girl…

…into a gorgeous princess in a lovely dress

Cinderella travelled in her magic coach to the Ball, where she was greeted by two heralds, who blew their trumpets to announce her

arrival

When she went upstairs, she

met the hosts of the Ball, Prince Charming, and

his Dad, the King.

Prince Charming danced with Cinderella all night long.

They enjoyed dancing together. Do you enjoy dancing?

Cinderella was enjoying herself so much that she forgot that the Fairy Godmother had said the magic would end at Midnight!

She heard the clock strike 12,

and went running out of

the ball, but her glass slipper fell off as she ran!

Prince Charming tried the glass slipper on the foot of every lady in the land, but it didn’t fit anyone.

Finally, he came to Cinderella’s house.

He tried it on the Ugly Sisters, but it didn’t fit them either. He was about to leave, when Buttons arrived, bringing Cinderella with him.

Prince Charming tried the shoe on Cinderella’s foot…

It fitted her perfectly, and she magically changed back into the Princess he had met at the Ball.

When he asked her to marry him, Cinderella said:

YES!
