A meme is quite simply a concept, behavior, or idea that spreads, usually via the internet.

Memes most commonly illustrate themselves in a visual such as a picture or a video, but it can also take the form of a link, hashtag, a simple word or phrase or even an entire website.

They're funny, clever, and great for social sharing.

TASK 1:You will create memes by captioning the meme images from this power point. You must pick 8. Images will be found in my OUTBOX. You can take them into Pic Monkey, Paint.net or Photoshop to add your text.

NOTE: Outline text option is not available on picmonkey. I can do a quick demo in photoshop to get this effect.

CRITERIA-You must follow the rules of the memes. No random phrases. -Memes MUST be school appropriate! You can be funny without being offensive. Keep it clean people! Rule of thumb, if you have to ask if it is appropriate…it probably isn’t-You must explain your use of humor or parody and how it relates to culture. Also explain how your memes would appeal to a large audience.

Save each meme you create. Insert them into a word document. Under each meme, type your explanation of your creation. Each creation include the explanation of the Why. It is important to know the meaning behind your creation. Analyze it!

TASK 2:Pick three of the memes from this powerpoint and evolve them into a new meme (snowclone them)Example: Use the same caption but with a different picture like the Fry example or the X all the Y meme
