Jesus was looking to the future when he said, In the future you will see the Son of Humanity
coming (1 Thess 4:16).
While going through hell, Jesus kept His eyes on Heaven.
While surrounded by enemies, Jesus kept His mind on God.
While abandoned on earth, Jesus kept His heart on home in the sky.
When you feel betrayed, remember that. When you see the torches and feel the betrayer’s kiss,
remember God’s promises: I will never leave you; I will never abandon you. (Hebrews 13:5).
“When all of earth turns against you, all of heaven turns toward you. To keep your balance in a
crooked world, look at the mountains. Think of Home” (from Max Lucado’s And the Angels Were
Silent ).

The District Boy Scout leaders from Mason City presented our church a $335.28 donation for the
use of the church. They much appreciate using the church each month for their meetings and
the couple times a year for their extra events.
Dear friends at the United Methodist Church,
Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our upcoming Backpack Buddies
ministry. What a great way for you all to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community!
Blessings,
Pastor Scott
The church raised $474.69 for Backpack Buddies.
I wish to personally thank Pastor Jackie and my Christian family and friends for all the prayers,
along with the cards and personal visits that surrounded me while hospitalized over the month
of March. Now, as therapy and spring weather enter the picture, I hope to strengthen and
resume most activities in a gradual manner. Thank you, Nancy, for seeing me through all of this
turmoil. In Love,
James W. Pilgrim
Thank you to everyone at Clear Lake UMC who supported our Brownie troop during Girl Scout

community and is very active with many service projects throughout the year. If anyone is
interested in volunteering with Clear Lake Girl Scouts, please contact Jenny Amble at 515-238-
