There it was in my inbox. A listener wanted FaithRadio to partner with his

school on a special project. Myheart fluttered. I had to say wewould have to pass on thisopportunity. I had to tell him weare not like most Christian radiostations. We are unique.

Our funding is unique. MostChristian stations have a salesstaff. They sell “underwriting”(commercials) to businesses. There is nothing wrong with thismethod. However, in the gene-sis of Faith Radio, men andwomen believed that God wouldsupply our needs through theprayerful financial support of ourlisteners. This philosophy hasworked well since 1984. Manychurches support us, but we are not a separate ministry ofany one church. Many small businesses give to this ministry, but we do not have a specificcompany that pays all of our expenses. That would be a

big partner. Our daily expensesexceed $2,200. Our programming is unique.

We do not charge our preachersand teachers to be on FaithRadio. Some contribute becausewe allow them to be on the air;some do not give at all. However,we continue to offer the bestradio teaching available. Our ministry is unique. Most

of our music program hosts areFaith Radio people. These menand women have a call on theirlives to serve here. Faith Radioseeks the opportunity to servechurches and other ministries bypartnering with them to helptheir events be successful. We donot charge for that partnership.

Faith Radio is not like otherradio stations. Then, again, ourboard of directors never intendedus to be. We are unique.

We’re in the HospitalFaith Radio received a prayer request a fewmonths ago from a listener asking us to pray forher sickness. She said, “I have missed listeningto Faith Radio. I’ve been in the hospital for a fewweeks.” When Billy Irvin shared that prayerrequest with the CEO of Baptist Health, RussTyner, he said, “We can take care of that!” As aresult of that prayer request, Faith Radio can nowbe heard on Baptist Health’s TV Channel 104 atBaptist South and Baptist East in Montgomeryand Baptist Hospital in Prattville. Russ shared,“We have already heard great feedback frompatients who have tuned in.” Faith Radio isthankful for this new territory of ministry andhumbled to be a part of ministering to people allday and night at a time and place where theyneed extra strength and hope.

Remember... ministry is taking place on Channel 104.

The Meeting House was launched in2004, and it has been my desire tocommunicate a Christian world-

view perspective on a wide variety of topics, in addition to creating an atmos-phere of worship. I am so thankful forthose who listen, as well as those who haveprovided content for the program. So, Iwant to give God praise for:

• The opportunity to provide aChristian worldview perspective in avariety of subject areas, including currentissues, lifestyle topics, and areas in whichwe can be challenged to apply Biblicaltruth. I desire to keep my “finger on thepulse” of current events, especially thosethat have a spiritual component anddirectly impact the Christian community. Ialso get the opportunity to identify howGod is at work through His people andreport those instances to you. In addition,I want to find stories and concepts to

share spiritual principles that can inspireyou in your Christian walk.

• The opportunity to meet interest-ing authors, musicians, speakers, andcommentators – in person, by telephone,or both. I have had discussions with themajority of our Faith Radio programmersthroughout the years.

• The chance to develop relationshipswith regular guests on the program. I have regularly communicated with a numberof our contributors: Jimmy DeYoung, StuartShepard, Marc Newman, Joe Savage, and guests from WORLDMagazine.

• The opportunity to go “on location” at events, including NationalReligious Broadcasters, the InternationalChristian Retail Show, and the GMA Dove Awards.

• The representatives of TheMeet ing House guests, who recognizethe value of appearing on the showand work diligently behind the scenes tocoordinate those appearances.

Bob attended three red carpet events this year, including the one for "Beyond the Mask" inDetroit. He recorded a video interview withKara Killmer and Andrew Cheney the day afterthe premiere.

In the press room at the 2015 GMA DoveAwards in Nashville, Kirk Franklin, whoperformed at the awards ceremony, visitedthe Faith Radio broadcast center.

This month we shine the spot-light on Lauren Daigle, an up andcoming artist who was recentlyawarded New Artist of the Year atthe 2015 GMA Dove Awards.Lauren's website describes thepassion behind her music:

Faith and music have beenintertwined in the Louisiananative’s life since birth. Growingup in a region steeped in blues, country, zydeco and Cajun musichas inspired her to frame her wor-ship music in a unique light. ButDaigle admits she almost pushedmusic to the backburner, unsure ifit was her true calling, until a dev-astating illness brought her younglife into sharper focus. “It honestlywas one of the best things thathad happened to me,” Daigle saysof contracting a debilitating viruswhen she was 15 that kept her out

of schoolfor nearlytwo years.“I was asophomoreliving lifeand havinga blast. Then there was a big halt.Because my illness was animmune deficiency, anything thatwas airborne I’d catch it. If anyfriends were sick I couldn’t bearound them, so going to schoolbecame off limits.”

In the quiet solitude forcedupon her by this condition, Godspoke. “The Lord began to justpour in passion for music, singingand writing songs,” says Daigle... Iwent to this college prep schooland felt I needed to get serious, soI thought I’d go into the medicalfield and do mission work. Thenwhen the Lord brought me intothat solitude I was like, ‘How did Iget distracted from what my truepassion is? I NEED to be singing.’He really brought me through all of that season to pour in a passion for ministry and a passionfor music.”

Read more of Lauren's story at www.laurendaigle.com.Lauren's first album "How Can itBe" is available now and featuresthe song "First," which can beheard on Faith Radio.
