What to Watch on TCT Channel 2 –March 2014

March 3rd– The Green Glove: A World War II veteran in France gets mixed up in murder while investigating a stolen treasure.

March 10th – The Town Went Wild: Feuding fathers deal with the shocking news that their sons were switched at birth, meaning that one of their daughters is about to marry her own brother.

March 17th – The Lady Says No: A woman writes a best-selling book for women warning them about the "dangers" of men. A handsome photographer for a national magazine arrives in her town to do a feature story on her and complications ensue.

March 24th - That Gang of Mine: A street kid has dreams of becoming a jockey. He gets his chance when he and his gang discover a poor old man who has a championship race horse. The man agrees to let the boy ride his horse in a race, but first the gang must get enough money to pay for the race's entry fees.

March 31st - The Loudspeaker: A young man from a small town hits New York City, bound and determined to become a radio star. Amazingly, he achieves his ambition, but in the process alienates everyone around him with his arrogance and egomania.

March 26th – The Phantom Cowboy: Bill Collins meets up with his look-alike, the Phantom and is soon involved in the Phantom’s fight with Buck Houston. The Phantom spoils Houston’s plans for a big robbery. Bill fights off Houston's men only to find the Phantom shot and dying; unaware that Houston is now after him, still believing Bill to be the Phantom Cowboy!

The White City Public Library is hos ng a Cookie Walk on Saturday, March 15, from 9-11a.m. Dona ons of $6 for small bags and $8 for large bags. EVERYONE is invited—come and help to support our library.

The Council Grove/Dunlap United Methodist Women will be serving a Potato Bar lunch on Sunday, March 16. The meal will be served from 11a.m. to 1p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church. Proceeds will be used to help fund special needs in the community and UMW worldwide mission projects. The menu will include a large baked potato with a variety of toppings, drinks and an assortment of yummy desserts. The suggested dona on is $7 or $3.50 for children 12 and under. The St. Columba Catholic Church in Elmo is hos ng their annual soup lunch on Sunday, March 16, from 11:30a.m.—1:30p.m., in the church basement located at the corner of highway 15 and highway 4. Serving chicken and noodle and chili soups, veggies and crackers, ham and turkey sandwiches, and homemade pies. Take-outs available. Free will dona on.

The Chris an Church in White City will be hos ng their St. Patrick’s supper Sunday evening, March 16, at the senior center in White City. Corned beef and cabbage with potato bar and dessert will be furnished and of course some good Irish music; all for dona ons. Serving me will be 5—7p.m. Carry outs will be available.

The First Bap st Church of Council Grove is hos ng a Lucky Leprocaun Potato Bar on March 17 from 4—7p.m. Toppings include: hamburger cheese sauce, roast beef/gravy, chili, brocolli and cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, onions, and bu er. Find the right Leprocaun and win the “Lucky Leprecaun” basket. Free will off ering. Dona ons will go towards the First Bap st Church Relay For Life team.

The Central Na onal Bank White City Relay For Life team will host their 12th annual Silent Auc on and Tailgate party on April 5. The Silent Auc on items will be on display in the White City (965-7141) Community Building from April 3-5. You may view the items Wednesday — Friday from 9a.m.—4p.m. and 5-7p.m. Final bids will be 2p.m. on April 5.The Tailgate party is a grilled dinner, complete with homemade ice cream. Serving begins at 11a.m. Saturday, April 5. Funds raised during this event will be combined with the individual dona ons for luminaries and/or wall of memories at our Relay For Life walk-a-thon to be held on May 3, at Council Grove.
