Fürstenfeld town centre combines tra-

dition with the spirit of the age. The

old fortifications frame a modern town

with many amenities. One simply must

pay a visit to Pfeilburg Castle with its

museum and the oldest building in town.

largest outdoor swimming pool, while those

plore the wetlands by the river Feistritz in

a canoe. For those who prefer to keep dry

the puzzle trail is a playful way to discover

the town’s many secrets. The bravest among

you will relish the opportunity to follow the

Sagenpfad (Trail of Legends) through the

mystical Buchenwald forest. The Klanghaus

(house of sound) and the energy pyramid are

waiting to be discovered, before following

the little grey man’s trail to find the treasure.

The mediterranean way of life, the

regional variety and a mild clima-

te make for some extraordinary culina-

ry experiences. Over the course of the

year, delicious fresh ingredients such

as pumpkin, asparagus, wild garlic and

mushrooms grow right on your doorstep.

These form the basis of the delicious de-

lights served in the taverns. “Ausg’steckt

is” - the Buschenschank awaits you with

a typical Styrian “Jause”, a snack inclu-

ding cold delicacies, excellent wines and

juices. If you prefer to enjoy your meal at

home, come and visit our grocery shops,

farmer’s markets and farm shops.

T he outdoor swimming pool in Fürs-

tenfeld is the largest in Europe and

offers lots of space for sun worshippers,

long-distance swimmers and water en-

thusiasts to enjoy themselves. The 10m

diving platform attracts those with a sen-

se of adventure and our sports pool will

have sports enthusiasts riding high on

“the wave of success”. The new 116 m long

speed slide is a fantastic addition to the

wide range of visitor attractions in Fürs-

tenfeld. Those who are looking for rela-

xation will find it in the large shady areas

under the trees.

ing? Experience a special kind of

thrill with a skydiving experience at the air-

field in Fürstenfeld. The airfield also offers

aerial tours. If you are more of a water en-

thusiast you can explore the natural wonder

that is the river Feistritz by canoe. Those

who aim high will find themselves right at

home at the Fürstenfeld climbing hall. Eve-

ry summer our main square is transformed

into a giant sand pit during the Best of Beach

Volleyball Tournament. Other sporting

highlights are the Brunnenlauf (fountain

run), the Thermentriathlon, the Tennis Eu-

rope Junior Tour and the Karate Camp.

T he sunny Styrian thermal region is

rich in natural treasures. Six thermal

springs bring hot, curative thermal water

to the surface. Fields of luminous colours,

orchards and vineyards set the scene for

a wholesome, enjoyable break. Experi-

landmark of southeastern Styria, the Rie-

gersburg - an 850 year old castle on top
