What are Komodo dragons? Komodo dragons are the largest lizards in the world! In this book you will learn all about Komodo dragons,what they eat and where they live!

Where in the world?

Komodo dragons live on the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Flores, padar and rintja. Komodos live in burrows. They like to live in already made burrows. The burrows are small,so they have to bend in half. The young ones live in trees so they don't get eaten.

What are Komodo dragons? Komodo dragons are the largest lizards in the world! In this book you will learn all about Komodo dragons,what they eat and where they live!

Where in the world?

Komodo dragons live on the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Flores, padar and rintja. Komodos live in burrows. They like to live in already made burrows. The burrows are small,so they have to bend in half. The young ones live in trees so they don't get eaten.

Bold body

Komodos are the largest lizards in the world! They can be 10 f.t long and 300 l.bs. They have strong jaws and sharp teeth. They can run 30 miles per hour. They also have sharp claws and pink tongues. The young ones have yellow speckles, while the older ones have red-gray skin.

What's on the menu?

Big Komodos eat small mammals, birds, goats, pigs, water buffalo, and carrion(and some of the time their own young!).The young ones eat insects. Komodos ambush their prey. They use their sharp claws and teeth to catch their prey, and sharp sense of smell to find prey up to 2.5 miles away. Also, they use the bacteria in their saliva to kill.
