Indian weavers, for generations are making sarees. They have learnt the craft from their fathers and other senior members in their family.

Silk weavers stick to the weaving of silk based drapes while the cotton weavers stick to their art work. Each and every style of saree making has a unique style and the craftsmen are specialized in the particular form of weaving.

The art work of mythology on

It is very common among weavers to depict the stories of the mythology on the drapes, particularly on the silks.

•Baluchari, Banarasi, bomkai and brahmapuri silk sarees are some of the best examples that have such motifs on the sarees.

•Some of the mythologies are also mentioned on the Bengal handloom robes.

Fabrics and paintings on the Indian sareesFabric painting on the sarees is very common among Indian weavers. A rich color is used to paint on pieces of cloth called fabric art.

The artwork called Madhubani paintings on sarees depicts the story of Radha and Krishna.

Indian robes are now sold online and patrons of these sarees can collect them accordingly.
