You created us in Your own image, and when we turned away from You in sin, You did not stop caring for us. Instead, You opened a path of salvation for all people. Through Your servants Sarah and Abraham You gave the promise of blessing to all nations; through Moses You led Your people from slavery to freedom; through the prophets You renewed Your promise of salvation. Finally, when the right time came, You sent Your Son Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary, to become one of us. He ate and drank with outcasts and sinners and proclaimed the good news of the Kingdom. After His death and resurrection, He appeared to all His apostles and in their sight ascended into heaven

appeared to all His apostles and in their sight ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us, that where He is, we may be also, sharing His triumph and glory. We look forward, in joyful hope, to sharing in the banquet of the Kingdom with Him. Therefore, with all the angels of heaven, with the faithful departed and with Your whole church around the world, we praise Your glorious name saying:

All: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of Your glory. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is Jesus who came and will come again in the name of the Lord.

Minister: Come, Holy Spirit, take this bread and wine and make of them genuine signs of the body and blood of Jesus, so that we, feeding on Him, and trusting in Him alone, may be led from death to eternal life. These things we ask in, with and through, our Saviour Jesus Christ, as we proclaim with joy our faith:

All: Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again! Amen.

FROM THE DESK OF THE SENIOR MINISTER

ministers do during the week is indeed a bit of a mystery, and if one person is asking, well, likely there are others who wonder too. So from my daily diary last week, here are some of the items other than preaching on Sunday morning: 2 shut in visits, 1 hospital visit, 1 home visit, spent time one-on-one with three teenagers (about 8 hours altogether), Thursday lunch meeting with other pastors to plan the Good Friday joint worship service, 1 premarital counselling session, 1 Good Friday joint worship service, 1 premarital counselling session, 1 other counselling session, meeting with pastors of First Karen Baptist Church regarding a difficult pastoral situation, final revisions for

,Bushwakker (Wednesday night), sermon preparation/work on six month preaching schedule, wrote senio report for the annual report book, theological and biblical reading (6-8 hours), follow up letters/cards, etc. for visitors from preceding Sunday, emails(dozens) and regular mail correspondence and forms (2 or 3), helped an individual with an employment search, meeting with a distressed clergy person (from another denomination). Being a minister involves a lot of different things every week, so it is very rarely boring!

The last of these four talks wrapped up Wednesday with another great turnout. The mix of our own congregation, friends, family and people who are attending due to the advertising has led to good conversation during the session, afterwards around the tables and even through follow-up correspondence. The discussions have also quietly caught the attention of passersby and staff.

Thanks to Dr. Mark McKim for the well prepared and thoughtful talks and for adjusting week to week, and to Dr. Mark Anderson for hosting the evenings and moderating the discussions that followed. Thanks to everyone who came and most importantly, thank you to every person who kept these events in their prayers.
