Georgia is initiating Career Pathways to help students, schools, and economy succeed.

The Federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 mandates that Career Pathways provide rigorous academic and technical content with seamless transitions for every high school student to obtain college and career success, which may include skills certificates, associates or bachelors degrees. Career Pathways help students connect success in the classroom with success in life, and once this happen, the possibilities are endless.

Students who experience education as a tool to build their future are much more likely to make the most of it.

Schools populated with motivated students encourage motivated teachers, and together they create energized learning communities.

Effective learning communities increasingly release well-prepared graduates into the workplace where they deliver a powerful stimulus to the economy, which benefits every Savannah resident.

In the pages that follow, we will discuss several pathways. You will see how Career Pathways work, why they are necessary and how they will create education success across Savannah.
