A project aimed to promote biomedical student internships in the Israeli Life Science & High Tech industries

Biomedical Engineering Internship Network

What?

The goal of BEGIN by IATI is to provide biomedical internship opportunities and provide an easy platform for students and companies to connect.

IATI is Israel’s largest non profit umbrella organization for the high tech and life science industries. IATI provides business development opportunities for its 500 members, supports government activities and industry-academia relationships. (www.iati.co.il)

Why? For the students:

1. Develop practical engineering skills 2. Acquire relevant work experience3. Create a professional network for young biomedical

engineers

For the companies:

1. Direct and easy access to a large pool of young, motivated workers who are vital in achieving their business goals

2. Build and strengthen ties between the industry and academia

How?

Step 1

•Company offering position writes a short internship proposal

Step 2

•BEGIN sorts through the student database and selects three suitable candidates

•The proposal is sent to the candidates who decide if they would like to interview for the position

Step 3

•Once 2-3 qualified candidates are found, BEGIN sends the students portfolios (CVs, interest questionnaire, contact information, etc.) to the company

•The company interviews the students

Step 4

•If a match is made, the company finalizes terms for the internship directly with the student

•Otherwise, BEGIN searches the database again and supplies more candidates
