Twenty Fifth Sunday after Pentecost
November 10, 2013 - 11:00 AM
All who are able are invited to stand
Chiming of the Trinity The three bells rung at the beginning of the service represent the Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As the bells ring, let us gather quietly, prayerfully reflecting on the majesty of God in our lives.
Prelude Pastorale J. S. Bach Welcome and Announcements
To Praise the Living God Introit Be Still, For the Presence of the Lord Dave Evans Call to Worship Leader: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. People: Accept my offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your ordinances. Leader: Your decrees are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. People: I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, even unto the end. Leader: Let us worship God! Hymn, Supplement #30 Tell Me the Stories of Jesus STORIES OF JESUS
To Confess Our Sins and Receive Forgiveness Call to Confession Prayer of Praise and Adoration Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Like a beacon you lead us to safe
havens. Like a laser you discern the thoughts of our hearts. You enlighten our darkness and
clarify our confusion. You, indeed, rescue us when we are bewildered and lost. Accept now our
offerings of praise and thanksgiving as we open your word and learn of your ways. Silent Reflection and Personal Confession Response Hymn Lord, Have Mercy Upon Us Kyrie
Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us. A Litany of Assurance Leader: The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. People: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Leader: For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. People: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Leader: By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, God condemned sin in the flesh. People: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Leader: So that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. People: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
