Let us, therefore, enter into the worship service in a spirit of reverence, giving honor to Almighty God. It is our hope that each of us here today will experience a very meaningful time of worship and that your Christian life will be enriched by having joined with us today. The Pie & Ice Cream Social sponsored by Community Church At Sun Village is open to the Village residents and is free. It will be on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 1:30 – 3:00 pm in the KBR. Sign up in the Activity Center so we can get an accurate count.

Missions – Still Creek Ranch
The 300 acres of Still Creek Ranch is divided between 2 campuses. The main campus is where you will find the private academy, equestrian center, administrative offices, staff housing, and two homes for boys. The second campus is a gated, secure, and undisclosed location where the girls currently share two homes, with construction almost complete on a third.
Restore Her is an aftercare program for minor girls who are ‘at risk’ for sex trafficking and those who have been rescued from sex trafficking. Restore Her also rescues girls who have been exposed to commercial or private sexual exploitation.
The state of Texas leads the nation as a hub for human trafficking, and Restore Her is committed to lead the nation in rescuing these victims. The program offers long-term hope and healing to the girls through a safe, God-centered environment, the opportunity to graduate through an accredited boarding school, as well as guidance and healing through specialized counseling, athletics, arts, and an equestrian riding program.
Matthew’s House is a program for students who have graduated from Still Creek Ranch. It is independent, transitional living that equips students for life off the ranch. Through mentorship and teaching, these young adults learn essential life skills including money management, organization, and professionalism while working a job or attending a higher education institution.
Still Creek Christian Academy is a fully accredited boarding school offering K-12 education to students residing in the surrounding community, as well as students who reside at the ranch. Students who attend the school are given Gospel – centered teaching that prepares them to pursue higher education.
In addition to academic excellence, the program offers extensive extra-curricular activities. Students compete in 1A-TAPPS athletics with other schools in the area. The Ranch has one of the largest Equestrian and Agricultural
Programs in the state, where students learn both English and Western riding disciplines. The school is the heartbeat and priority of the program, setting all of the students up for future success.
Persecuted Church – Iraq
JERUSALEM, Israel – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi declared victory in Mosul on Monday when the Iraqi army took over the last few yards under the control of the Islamic State. The military campaign to retake Iraq's second largest city began in October and lasted longer than many analysts predicted. ISIS fighters put up a ferocious campaign to defend the city, with suicide attacks, house-to-house fighting, snipers and using Mosul civilians as human shields. The aftermath of the battle leaves behind an enormous human and material toll.
An estimated 900,000 fled the city; thousands perished and many who survived suffered trauma few can comprehend. But now that Mosul has been liberated, what do we need to know? Here are five things to remember.
1. RECONSTRUCTION WILL BE MASSIVE.
"Mosul is completely destroyed." That's the grim assessment of one Iraqi official. Now Mosul – ancient Nineveh in the Bible – where two million once lived is a shell of its former glory. To restore the city, it will take billions of dollars and years of work.
2. MANY CHRISTIANS ARE NOW WITHOUT A HOME
When ISIS captured the city of Mosul in the summer of 2014, thousands of Christians fled for their lives. ISIS fighters gave them four choices: leave their homes; stay
but pay the jizya tax for non-Muslims; convert to Islam and deny Jesus; or die by the sword. Most left behind homes and livelihoods. Please pray for these believers as they face destroyed homes in Mosul and a bleak future.
3. ON TO RAAQA
The fight against ISIS goes on. The commander of U.S. forces in Iraq said his number two priority – retaking Raaqa in Syria – has now become his number one priority.
4. THE CALIPHATE IS GONE; THE CALIPHATE IS COMING
It's important to remember ISIS is a manifestation of an ideology that lives on to bring the world under the subjugation of Islam. This belief system, with roots in the Koran, fuels the fire not only in individuals or groups but nation states.
5. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS MOVING
In the midst of the death, destruction and despair going on in Mosul, the Holy Spirit is working. Even in refugee camps flooded by refugees from Mosul, Muslims have had dreams and visions of Jesus. Some have put their faith in Him.
World, National, and State Concerns
We need to be diligent in our prayers about the unrest in our nation that is causing great division across the country. Pray for a return to civility in relationships within this great land. Pray that hate and violence will be stopped. Pray for the families across the country that have lost loved ones and property through catastrophic situations including fires, and other natural disasters.
Pray for President, Donald Trump as he continues his four year term of office. These are critical days for our nation. [1 Timothy 2:1-4].
Pray earnestly for a revival in this land, that Christians will boldly take a stand for their Christian beliefs. Pray that those who are attempting to impose restrictions on us that are contrary to the Law of God would be stopped.
Pray for our National and State legislators. Pray for the congress as they deal with critical issues facing our nation. Pray for all those who are in leadership over the political matters facing our national, state, and local governments.
Pray for the members of the courts around the country as they deliberate on matters of importance to our nation’s wellbeing.
Pray for those in Law Enforcement throughout the country. Pray for God’s intervention to stop the constant attacks against police and those charged with keeping law and order.
Pray faithfully for the safety of our nation as we live with the reality of terrorist threats and activity. Pray for those who are responsible for monitoring those threats.
Pray for protection of our troops as they serve around the world to keep and maintain peace. Pray for wisdom for those who provide leadership for military operations.
Pray for God’s direction in the US involvement in the Middle East and specifically Israel. Pray for our president, our legislators, and military officials who are involved in making decisions regarding Israel.
Pray for the land of Israel, for her people, and for their protection. Pray for her leaders and for protection from those who would threaten her sovereignty as a nation. Pray about the relations between the United States and Israel.
Do not cease to pray for peace around the world.
