Today Hunter has joined the covenant of God and our people. What an accomplishmentfor this special young man! It has been amazing to watch him grow from a toddler runningaround the living room at Long Beach Island chased on by Grandma Sharon; learning toride the elevator with Dave and loving their daily walks. Hunter spends time at another ofhis favorite beaches with Mel & Terry. Hunter has always loved playing in the sand and isfearless in the ocean!

Our families have always spent holidays together, whether it is Thanksgiving with theJacobs or our favorite, – Passover in Boca. As a little boy Hunter began to ask the first ofthe Four Questions in English and over the years through diligence and hard work he hasmastered all four questions in Hebrew. For many children doing new tasks seem to comenaturally, for Hunter, each new task is a challenge to be taught, habituated, andaccomplished. Through it all there has been his relationship with mom, Dina; she is hismentor, teacher, cheerleader and most of all, his mom.

It has been a privilege for Bernie and me, our children, and grandchildren, to share Hunter’sjourney to the Bima. We wish Hunter, Dina, and the rest of the family a hearty mazel tov.We look forward to watching him blossom in the years to come.

Love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your might.

And these words that I command you this day, take them to heart, consider them well.

Teach them repeatedly to your children, instruct them again and again.

In the privacy of your home, and in the public world outside, twenty-four hours a day.

Tie them to your handiwork as a sign, wear them as a mark of Jewish identity.

Inscribe them in a Mezuzah, place them at the entrance to your home.

Today we are all here to wish Hunter a "Happy Bar Mitzvah." To a lot of people, happinessis complicated. To Hunter, it is the simple things that make him happy. He loves to splasharound in the pool on a hot summer day, the feel of the waves in the ocean as the breakupon him, the taste of pizza, playing on his computer, helping out at the animal shelter. When he plays games, he doesn't care if he wins or loses ... he just loves to play. Hunter hasthe greatest laugh. It is a whole hearted belly laugh. It makes YOU want to laugh. At thevery least it makes you smile. It serves as a reminder to all of us that happiness should notbe complicated. Happiness is simply anything that you love. And we all love Hunter.

What Hunter has taught us.....

The journey can be just as exciting as the destination

....airplane travel anywhere can be joyous......

No matter how many elevators you ride there is always something new to see at the top.....

A motor boat ride in Italy with the wind and spray in your face brings not only smiles butlots of happy giggles.....

He has taught us that although people live different lives that does not mean that they all can not havewonderful lives..

And above all Hunter has taught us that non perils are at the top of the food pyramid....

Reader:I couldn’t begin to express just how proud I am to be Hunter’s father. Having seen himgrow up, I always knew that he was a special boy. We are all aware of what challenges hehas had to endure from his diagnosis, but what some of you may not know is how it hasgiven him an unique perspective of the world and how he responds to it.

He is the most selfless person I have ever met. He is perfectly content doing the things thathe loves to do, but if you were ask him to give you a turn playing a video game or to seewhat he is playing with, Hunter will hand it to you without thought, perfectly willing toshare. It is never about winning or losing with Hunter, but about the experience itself. Noreason to be a sore loser. No reason to complain that he was cheated. No reason to throw afit if he made a mistake. I wish I could say the same.

His interaction is pure and innocent. It is his innocence that we should admire. Hunter hasno concept of prejudice. No bias against, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and noreason to ever hold a grudge. If only the rest of the world could learn from how Hunter seesthe world, what a better place it would be filled with so much love, peace andunderstanding. Let’s all learn from Hunter’s selflessness and lack of discrimination. Todayhe has become a young man and I am certain he will continue to teach me to view the worldand its inhabitants in a liberal and equal fashion.

.W ©tP ¦I ©e z ©aWReader:When Hunter was born, I became a grandparent for the first time. Hunter loves the softness of the kitten’s fur; He loves the feeling of rain on his face, the power of the ocean waves, the feeling of Dave’s hand holding his and the words “I love little hand,” the delicious taste of a hot, cheesy pizza, the sweetness of a chocolate nonpareil. More than anything, Hunter loves the hugs, kisses and squeezes he gets from his mommy.

My relationship with Hunter has always given me incredible joy. I was at the hospital in LosAngeles when Hunter was born. I believe I have been with him more than anyone else, besides, of course, Dina. Throughout all those times, I have found Hunter to be loving, endearing and fun. Yes, fun. I love to joke and Hunter is (almost) always ready to laugh. When we are together for any period of time, we almost always do two things: we try to rideevery elevator in sight. and we take long walks. I rub Hunter’s hand and say "I love little

hand". Although he does not completely understand me, he responds; "I love little hand".Dina gave me Hunter's framed handprint with the inscription "I love little hand" and I smilewhenever I pass it in my home. Over the yearsI have seen Hunter make tremendous progress as he has been growing up, all due to the24/7 efforts of his fantastic mother, Dina. She has made the motto of the Army, namely "BeAll That You Can Be" Hunter's motto and it is clear she has succeeded admirably. I lookforward to many more years of walking and being with my best buddy.

Ours is the joyous privilege to praise the Source of all existence. God has spread out the majestic heavens, andestablished the earth. The divine presence and glory pervade the universe and stir the soul of every humanbeing. The eternal is our God; there is none else. We bow in awe and thanksgiving before the One who isSovereign over all, the Holy and Blessed one.

We wil try to be holy,We will try to repair the world given to us to hand on.Precious is the treasure of words and knowlege and deeds that moves inside us.Holy is the hand that works for peace and for justice,Holy is the mouth that speaks for goodness.

Let holiness move in us.Let us pay attention to its small, but great voice.Let us see the light in others and honor that light.
