There are some occasions in our lives when we wish we could wave a magic wand, and make everything 'alright'. Unfortunately, magic wands are rarely available, unless, of course you happen to be on the set of Harry Potter. With the NHS's annual budget at the all-consuming level of £108-billion, the government is looking for ways of reducing this huge expenditure. It has to change to have a feasible future, especially with an ever expanding population. As the pace of change accelerates us into the new millennium an increasing number of new technologies and methodologies have surfaced and are currently bubbling through global consciousness. Unfortunately many real alternatives that work happily as a mono-therapy or alongside allopathic medicine are treated with suspicion or are overlooked due to misinformation, historical factors, time constraints and just being 'too close to the woods to see the trees'. Scenar technology is one such development that seems, at least until recently, to have been largely overlooked and could be set to save the NHS a small fortune. Originally conceived as a treatment device to keep cosmonauts healthy during space travel, the technology was released to the medical fraternity in Russia after Perestroika had transformed the Soviet Union and ended the cold war. Used in many hospitals and clinics in Russia where it has transformed recovery times, it is now making groundbreaking progress in the West – especially in relation to pain management. According to Richard Cumbers, the CEO of 21st Century Energy Medicine "We obtained the rights to market and support Scenar a number of years ago after we saw from our own experience the amazing effects on pain and recovery times from different types of injury and illness. Although we specialise in many 'leading edge', non-invasive technologies, we have concentrated on this one because of its dramatic effects. Via bio-feedback with the central nervous system it stimulates the release of neuro- peptides, providing immediate and long term changes as the body is re-educated, it really does get to the cause rather than the symptom". But this is not a 'new' fad that has just hit the headlines. It has been well documented for many years. Indeed, the Daily Mail ran an article in November 1999, with the heading 'Zapping Pain with a Space-Age Gadget'. In October 2000, The Times published an article "Teaching The Body To Heal Itself Naturally. Kindred Spirit magazine reported "A Breakthrough In Non-Invasive Treatment", while Positive Health magazine stated, "Star Trek Medicine is here". Pain Genie Ltd was formed three years ago to help support the widespread use of the latest Scenar technology in a device now known as the Pain Genie Home Scenar. Although it was aimed at the general public as a means to take care of pain and accelerate healing at home, it is now the treatment of choice by an increasing number of world-class athletes and medical professionals. Anthony Hughes, a chemical engineer and biochemist with a degree in Chinese medicine has incorporated the Pain Genie into his highly successful natural medicine clinic in Dublin. He says "I have worked for the last 23 years helping over 15,000 of our clients back to health by identifying and removing toxins from their bodies .... this is so straightforward to use that I now have many of them using it at home as part of their treatment program, I am still amazed by it's impact on pain which is often nothing short of miraculous ... you have to see it to believe it" Amongst more recent media attention that appears to confirm such results are : "Pain Genie – No 1 Pain Buster" in The Dr Kathryn Remington BSc(Hons) MB BS Mail on Sunday and the headline "Scenar – The Future?" in the Air Ambulance Supplement of the International Travel Insurance Journal. A SOLUTION TO THE HEALTHCARE CRISIS?

There are some occasions in our lives when we wish we could

wave a magic wand, and make everything 'alright'.

Used in many hospitals and clinics in Russia where it has transformed recovery times, it is now making groundbreaking

progress in the West – especially in relation to pain management. According to Richard Cumbers, the CEO of 21st Century Energy Medicine "We obtained the rights to market and support Scenar a number of years ago after we saw from our own experience the amazing effects on pain and recovery times from different types of injury and illness. But this is not a 'new' fad that has just hit the headlines. It has been well

documented for many years. Indeed, the Daily Mail ran an article in November 1999, with the heading 'Zapping Pain with a Space-Age Gadget'. In October 2000, The Times published an article "Teaching The Body To Heal Itself Naturally.
