THEME OF THE SEMINAR
M. K. Gandhi who is a great leader and a Mahatma at the same time is a challenge to all intellectuals and scholars who try to define him in one
or the other way. This particular seminar proposes to define Gandhi as a whole and that too with special reference to the problems and solutions
of humanity in the light of his ideology, philosophy and political thoughts. Gandhi’s contradictions and commitments led everyone to think about
him again and again. One cannot brush him and his ideology aside. So let us understand Gandhi in the right perspective and intention. The
seminar would possibly cover the vast area of Indian Philosophy, Political Thought and History. The prime objective of the seminar is to
acknowledge the high- handed contribution of M. K. Gandhi in the ‘History of Nation Making’. Secondly, we want to invite a huge and
research-based conversation on various aspects so that it could add some new thoughtful ideas and facts to the stream of human knowledge.
Third objective is to produce a volume of writings as a tribute to the Father of Nation. The theme of the seminar would be classified in a very
systematic and subjective manner so that the participants from different stream could easily attend. The college proposed to commence the
seminar because of to enrich the academic environment. This also intended to provide a chance to the faculty members of various colleges of
Murshidabad as well as nearby districts to exhibit their ‘quality of assessment’ and ‘speaking ability’. This seminar would provide a platform of
exchanging ideas among the scholars and teachers on various stream of knowledge, and thus it would help to establishment a state wise
academic and intellectual network. The theme of the seminar has intelligibly been chosen so that it could teach some moral education (as stated
and disseminated by Gandhi) to us which has serious need at present time.
