A state-of the-art survey & testbed of Fuzzy AHP (FAHP) applications
• A state-of the-art survey of FAHP application papers is carried out (190 papers are reviewed);
• Papers are classified based on the identified: Application area, Theme, Year, Country, etc.;
• Papers are summarised in various tabular formats and charts to help readers to extract quick and meaningful information;
• Results & Findings are made available through an online (free) testbed, making one or more fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices (FPCMs), from all papers, available for download.

Conclusion — Online FAHP TestbedOnline Testbed enabling to (i) Access the state-of-the-art survey’s results and paper-related URLs; (ii) Download Fuzzy Pairwise Comparison Matrices (FPCMs) files (.mat) and paper-related BibTeX.
Testbed’s URL: http://fahptestbed.sntiotlab.lu/
Available filters to ‘Sort’ & ‘Download’ a group of papers (BibTeX) or FPCMs (.mat)
‘Download’ all or a subset of papers/matrices
Dynamic graphs and pie charts according to the filters’ setting
A total of 254 FPCMs from 180 papers (out of the 192 reviewed) have been collected and made available through the online testbed.
This histogram shows the distribution of the 254 FPCMs according to their respective size; FPCMs whose size is >10x10 (up to 20×20) are summed together under the ≥ 10 × 10 x-label.
A state-of the-art survey & testbed of Fuzzy AHP (FAHP) applications
Conclusion• FAHP is used primarily in the Manufacturing, Industry & Government sectors;
• Asia is the torchbearer in this field, where FAHP is mostly applied for Selection & Evaluation;
• a significant amount of research papers (43% of the reviewed literature) combine FAHP with other tools, particularly with TOPSIS, QFD and ANP;
• The journals from which the highest number of papers have been integrated to our state-of-the-art survey are: (1) Expert Systems with Applications; (2) Applied Soft Computing; (3) Journal of Cleaner Production; (4) International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology;
• Chang’s extent analysis is still the most popular FPCMs’ weight derivation method, used in 57% of the reviewed literature, and this despite of a number of criticisms in recent years.
http://fahptestbed.sntiotlab.lu/ We believe that the online FAHP testbed can serve as a ready reference for different categories of end-users, such as for:
• Researchers - Scholars: to help them identifying relevant scientific papers (e.g., looking at a specific theme, area…) when writing FAHP-related state-of-the art chapters; and offer the possibility to download more than 250 triangular FPCMs when carrying out scientific analyses;
• Reviewers - editors: to help them evaluating the novelty and relevance of future research papers submitted in this field.
